Awarding ceremony of the contest to learn about Trade Union Law and Social Insurance Law 2024

On November 11, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) held a closing ceremony and awarded prizes for the online contest: Workers, civil servants - employees (CNVC-LĐ) learn about the Trade Union Law and the Social Insurance Law in 2024. Vice Presidents of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor: Ngo Duy Hieu, Huynh Thanh Xuan and representatives of departments, branches and organizations attended.

Deployed from August 19 to October 1, the online contest "Employees learn about the Trade Union Law and the Social Insurance Law 2024" aims to propagate, disseminate, raise awareness and understanding of the law, contributing to building a culture of living and working according to the Constitution and the law among union members and workers.

According to Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, after nearly 2 months of implementation, the contest has received enthusiastic and responsible response from a large number of union members and workers.

In terms of scale, the contest has been widely deployed in 51/51 provincial and municipal labor federations, central industry unions, economic group unions, and corporations under the General Confederation, attracting 353,511 union members and workers to participate. In particular, many units are active in implementing and promoting the activities, such as: Thanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Lai Chau, Cao Bang, Dong Thap, Nghe An, Banking Trade Union, Vietnam Textile and Garment Trade Union, Vietnam Healthcare Trade Union...

Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu affirmed that these are very remarkable results, especially in the context that units are having to focus on the work of organizing the apparatus and implementing two-level local government.

The Trade Union Law and the Social Insurance Law are two important laws, passed by the 15th National Assembly with many new and progressive points. In particular, the Trade Union Law 2024 (amended and supplemented in 2025) has created a solid legal corridor for the organization and operation of Vietnam Trade Unions in the new period; strongly affirming the role of Trade Union organizations in representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers.

The Social Insurance Law 2024 continues to create a legal corridor in the field of social security, aiming to ensure a safe and stable life for millions of workers. The dissemination and popularization of these two laws is an important task, affirming the pioneering role of the Trade Union organization in raising awareness and legal knowledge for union members and workers, understanding the law to better implement and protect themselves.

In terms of quality, the contest attracted the attention of a large number of union members and workers with tens of thousands of absolutely correct answers, demonstrating outstanding efforts and thorough, comprehensive understanding of legal regulations.

In addition to the knowledge test, hundreds of thousands of essays from union members and workers across the country expressed their feelings, experiences and wishes about the role of trade unions and the meaning of social insurance in life, demonstrating their understanding and feelings about two laws that are very close and practical to workers.

Through the contest, not only do workers have a deeper understanding of the law, but union officials also realize more clearly their responsibilities to better meet the aspirations of union members and workers.

The Organizing Committee awarded 34 individual prizes and 24 collective prizes. In which, the first individual prize was awarded to Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Hung, Trade Union of Tay Ho Chi Minh Radio - MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation. 2 first collective prizes were awarded to Thanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation - the unit with the largest number of participants and Lai Chau Provincial Labor Federation - the unit with the highest rate of union members participating.
