Over 1,000 hectares of crops for the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring crop must fight drought

Currently, of the total 252 reservoirs managed by the company, about 21 are at normal water level; 91 are at 70 - 90%; 63 are at 50 - 70%; 55 are below 50%; 22 are dry.

The company is implementing drought prevention for 6 projects, with a total irrigation area of ​​about 1,060 hectares.

Of which, 2 projects in Buon Don district have completed drought prevention work, with a total area of ​​600 hectares. Currently, 5 projects are continuing to implement drought prevention work, with a total area of ​​about 460 hectares in Lak district, Krong Nang, and Buon Ho town.

The water level of Upper Ea Sup Lake is falling near the dead water level.

Particularly for the Ea Sup Thuong lake project (Ea Sup district), the current water level is at 205.75 m (0.35 m above the dead water level). The company has directed the Ea Sup district branch to implement water-saving irrigation and rotational irrigation to ensure water supply until the end of the crop.

It is known that according to the plan to prevent and combat drought and water shortage approved by the company, in the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring crop, about 44/362 projects (34 reservoirs, 10 dams) are expected to be at risk of drought and water shortage at the end of the crop and still have resources to combat drought.

The expected area to be drought-resistant is about 3,330 hectares of crops including: 2,500 hectares of rice, 811 hectares of industrial crops, and 18 hectares of flowers.
