| Plan International Vietnam and representatives of communes and wards discussed and agreed on plans and allocations for support packages worth more than VND8 billion for post-disaster recovery. |
The project is funded by the Australian Humanitarian Assistance Program – Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (AHP – DFAT) through Plan International Vietnam, with a total budget of more than VND 8 billion, as a non-refundable aid source for post-disaster recovery activities.
The project will be implemented for 6 months from November 2025 to April 2026 in 6 communes and wards including: Ha Giang 1, Ha Giang 2, Lao Chai, Vi Xuyen, Xin Man and Tan Quang; supporting over 9,000 people, of which 55% are women, 7% are people with disabilities and 58% are children.
At the conference, leaders of communes and wards in the project area presented the results of community consultations, reported on damage in households, schools and communities. At the same time, they proposed priority projects and items to support during the recovery phase... The project focuses on three main groups of activities: Supporting food security and sustainable livelihoods; restoring clean water and environmental sanitation; enhancing protection and psychosocial support for women, children and vulnerable people.
Based on the discussion, delegates agreed on the criteria for selecting beneficiaries and the plan and quantity of support packages including cash support for households, cash support for individuals, water filters and livelihoods for each commune based on the actual level of damage.
Previously, in October and November 2025, Plan International Vietnam promptly deployed an emergency aid package worth 50,000 Euros (equivalent to 1.5 billion VND) to help people in Tuyen Quang province overcome the consequences caused by two storms No. 10 (Bualoi) and No. 11 (Matmo). The aid packages and essential necessities were delivered by Plan International Vietnam in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs to people in the disaster-affected areas, contributing to helping people stabilize their lives soon.
