Hundreds of construction sites deployed at Long Thanh International Airport project

(CPV) – According to Vietnam Airports Corporation, the investor of component project 3, Long Thanh International Airport Construction Investment Project, package 5.10 - construction and installation of equipment for the passenger terminal of Long Thanh International Airport phase 1 is expected to be completed before August 31, 2026.

According to the expected progress, the passenger terminal project will basically complete the construction part before December 2025, in parallel with the completion and installation of equipment for trial operation from the beginning of 2026.

Construction of Package 5.10 started at the end of August 2023 with the construction items of the passenger terminal (central terminal and three wings) with a structure of 1 ground floor and 3 floors, the roof height is over 45.5m; the terminal is designed with two separate departure and arrival elevations, with a total floor area of ​​over 376 thousand m2; arranging 40 parking positions nearby for Code C, E and F aircraft.

Currently, the joint venture has completed all reinforced concrete columns and floor beams of floors 1, 2, 3, and 4. The contractors are currently processing and assembling the roof steel structure according to the plan and progress in the contract. Accordingly, the main frame steel structure has been processed, manufactured and painted to completion, reaching more than 11,400 tons out of a total volume of more than 28,200 tons, reaching more than 40%.

In parallel with the construction progress of the rough part, all the procurement and ordering of ME equipment, station equipment, BHS system, and facade glass walls have been implemented, signed contracts with suppliers and manufacturers, and are in the process of manufacturing and processing components... according to the set schedule.

With this package, the actual construction volume value has reached more than 10 trillion VND, equivalent to more than 30% of the contract value (total contract value of more than 33 trillion VND).

Also according to Vietnam Airports Corporation, currently, the ILS/DME precision landing support equipment of Long Thanh International Airport has completed the production process at the factory.

As planned, this equipment is being transported to Long Thanh International Airport. In December 2024, the contractor will deploy the installation of precision landing support equipment.

The ILS/DME system plays an important role in providing guidance information, helping pilots accurately determine the runway centerline and landing angle within the operating range. Thanks to that, pilots will be supported to the maximum in the conditions during the runway approach and landing, especially in bad weather conditions.

The implementation of this system will contribute to improving the efficiency of flights landing at this airport, while meeting international aviation standards.

The installation of precision landing support equipment is a part of package 4.6 - construction, equipment installation and design of runways, taxiways and aircraft parking lots with a total value of more than 7.2 trillion VND.

This package was started at the end of August 2023. To date, the actual construction volume has reached more than 3 trillion VND, equivalent to more than 42% of the contract value. Package 4.6 is under construction 3 months ahead of schedule.

The contractor consortium is mobilizing nearly 2,000 workers and many machines, determined to put the project into technical operation before April 30, 2025 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification.

It is known that currently at the construction site of Long Thanh International Airport project There are more than 6,000 personnel and 2,700 machines and equipment participating in the project. Contractors are currently implementing hundreds of construction projects.

The packages currently under construction at the construction site have all been inspected, supervised and accepted in accordance with the project's technical standards, ensuring the required quality and progress. Along with that, all types of materials (backfill, stone, sand, etc.) before being brought to the construction site are strictly controlled and tested in accordance with the project's technical standards, ensuring the required quality./.
