The 2024-2025 Winter-Spring crop was implemented under favorable conditions but also encountered many difficulties due to the impact of severe cold, which affected some newly planted and sown rice areas and vegetable crops, slowing down the planting progress. From the end of February to the beginning of April, there was little rainfall, low light intensity combined with high humidity, slowing down the growth and development of crops. In particular, the level of leaf blast disease was higher than in the 2023-2024 Winter-Spring crop.
However, under the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee; the close coordination of sectors, the efforts of agricultural cooperatives, farmers and enterprises, the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring crop production achieved comprehensive success.
The whole province has cultivated 135,836 hectares. The variety structure continues to shift towards quality and increasing the added value of products; the rate of high-quality rice reaches 75% of the area, equivalent to the 2023-2024 Winter-Spring crop; the rate of hybrid rice reaches 17% of the area. Over 4,500 hectares apply water-saving rice cultivation, creating carbon credits in sustainable rice cultivation. The average yield reaches 68.4 quintals/ha, an increase of 0.1 quintals/ha compared to the 2023-2024 Winter-Spring crop. The value of rice production (at the time price) reaches 8,806 billion VND, an average of 64.8 million VND /ha .
Communes and wards planted 47,282 hectares of vegetables . The productivity of crops was equivalent to the same period last year ; the selling price of many agricultural products was equivalent to, higher than the same period last year. The total product value was estimated at 4,426 billion VND, an average of 93.6 million VND /ha ....
Plant protection, plant quarantine, agricultural material management and irrigation work continue to be maintained stably and have new developments.
Cultivation continues to develop in the direction of concentrated commodity production according to value chains, sustainable, adapting to climate change, ensuring quality and food safety. Expanding and developing models of organic agricultural production, high-tech agricultural application, clean and safe agriculture, meeting market demand; replicating models applying advanced technical processes, sustainable intensive farming measures.Production - consumption chains linking high-quality rice and rice seeds with an area of about 2,500 hectares; organic fertilizer production model; high-tech vegetable growing model; organic model with an area of over 2,200 hectares...
In the 2025-2026 Winter-Spring crop, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will coordinate with localities to focus on promoting the shift in agricultural and food production towards high-quality goods, ensuring food safety and hygiene. The whole province strives to cultivate 134,500 hectares of rice, striving for a yield of 6.8 tons/hectare or more, completing cultivation before February 25, 2026; rice output strives to reach 900,000 tons or more; rice production value strives to increase by 1.5% compared to the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring crop.

To complete the set goals and targets, localities and farmers focus on implementing intensive farming and crop protection measures . Proactively. Monitor , predict, forecast, and advise on measures to prevent and control plant pests and protect production safety.
Communes and wards plan high-yield, high-quality rice growing areas; protect rice-growing land; review, count, and consolidate ineffective rice-growing areas and areas of households that do not need to cultivate into concentrated areas; research and select suitable conversion targets and make conversion plans according to regulations . Organize and implement well the internal irrigation campaign. Develop water intake plans for each commune and cooperative to coordinate water intake for the highest efficiency.
Strengthen the transfer of technical advances and effectively implement agricultural production restructuring models. Develop a specialized inspection plan according to the plan to check the quality of agricultural materials circulating on the market, contributing to ensuring good service for rice and vegetable care, determined to achieve a comprehensive victory in the 2025-2026 Winter-Spring crop production.
