
In the first 6 months of 2024, the activities of the Provincial Steering Committees have had many clear changes, becoming increasingly systematic, methodical and effective. The Provincial Steering Committee has focused on directing the strengthening of inspection, supervision and audit work, improving the effectiveness of coordination between functional agencies in detecting and strictly handling many corruption and negative cases, especially complicated, prolonged cases with difficulties and obstacles. Proactively detecting, prosecuting, investigating and strictly handling a number of new cases and incidents related to violations that occurred in previous years and newly arising violations. The results of activities continue to affirm the role and necessity of the Provincial Steering Committee in leading and directing the work of preventing and combating corruption and negative acts in the locality. Thereby, actively contributing to the work of Party building and rectification, consolidating the trust of cadres, Party members and the People in the Party's fight against corruption and negative acts.
The conference pointed out the shortcomings and limitations of the Provincial Steering Committees, such as: Some Steering Committees are not operating in a systematic and systematic manner; some requests for appraisal and valuation are still slow; the inspection and supervision work of the Steering Committee, although receiving attention, is still limited; there is still a situation of avoidance, shirking, and fear of responsibility by a number of cadres, party members, civil servants, and public employees, especially managers; corruption and negativity in some areas are still complicated... Delegates attending the conference also proposed many ideas and discussed solutions to improve the effectiveness of the Provincial Steering Committees in the coming time.
At the conference, the leaders of the Central Internal Affairs Commission disseminated the basic contents of Regulation 132-QD/TW, dated October 27, 2023 of the Politburo on controlling power and preventing corruption and negative acts in investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of sentences.
Concluding the conference, Comrade Phan Dinh Trac, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee, acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Provincial Steering Committee in the first 6 months of the year. He requested that in the last 6 months of 2024, the Provincial Steering Committee continue to deploy and strictly implement regulations on power control and prevention of corruption and negativity in all fields and activities. The functional branches should strengthen inspection, supervision and audit work focusing on areas prone to corruption and negativity, specialized fields, closed activities, outstanding issues, pressing issues, and issues of public concern in the area. Focus on leading and directing the work of detecting and handling corruption and negativity, speeding up the investigation and handling of corruption and negativity cases and incidents in the locality, especially cases assigned by the Central Steering Committee and cases and incidents under the Provincial Steering Committee. At the same time, it is necessary to rectify and overcome limitations and shortcomings; Continue to further improve the effectiveness of operations in preventing and combating corruption and negativity; strictly implement working regulations, especially meeting regulations; advise the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and the City Party Committee to promptly perfect the organizational apparatus associated with building a team of internal affairs cadres of the Provincial Party Committee and City Party Committee with adequate qualities and capacity.
