Fire at 300m² scrap warehouse, authorities took more than 3 hours to control

A fire suddenly broke out at a scrap warehouse in Su Nam hamlet (Hon Dat commune, An Giang province), creating a column of smoke tens of meters high, covering the entire area. After more than 3 hours of firefighting efforts, the Fire Police and Rescue Force, along with local militia, controlled the fire, which was about 300 square meters wide. The fire did not cause any human casualties.

On the morning of November 16, the authorities of Hon Dat commune (An Giang province) are investigating the cause of the fire at a local scrap warehouse.

At around 6:30 p.m. on November 15, a fire broke out at the scrap warehouse of Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu (born in 1972, in group 10, Su Nam hamlet). The warehouse was about 300 square meters wide, containing many plastic bottles, nylon bags and other flammable scrap. Upon receiving the news, the Fire Police and Rescue Force, along with other relevant agencies, quickly deployed control measures.

By 9:40 p.m. the same day, the fire was completely extinguished, causing no human casualties and not affecting the neighboring residential areas. Property damage is being assessed. Local residents said the fire may have originated from an electrical short circuit.
