Exhibition "Soak" and emotional touches

“Soak” is the first solo exhibition of Tuyen Vu - a painter born in 1981 in Nam Dinh, graduated from Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts, class 33.

Not following the path of full-time creation like many other artists, Tuyen Vu chose another job in parallel with nurturing her love of painting.

"During the day, I work as a waterproofer to make a living. At night, I paint - to be true to myself. For me, color is a companion. I talk, sing and dance with it. It gives me hope and the feeling of living fully every day," Tuyen Vu shared.

And perhaps that is why his artworks are the result of a creative journey from life experiences. In addition to works painted on canvas, he also paints on scraps collected from the landfill.

“I find the material for my works in the people around me. They bring me beauty, love and even silent wounds. From there, I learn to look back at myself,” Tuyen Vu confided.

The works in Tuyen Vu's exhibition bring a unique artistic space with color blocks, shapes and rhythms like "touches" with unclear shapes but full of emotions.

This explains why Tuyen Vu's works are boldly abstract, yet open up a close space, where the audience's emotions and memories can be awakened when they find an emotional connection with the artist.

The exhibition "Soak" received a lot of attention from the public during the April 30 - May 1 holiday. The exhibition also received many positive signals when some works were collected right in the first days of opening.

The exhibition, which runs until May 3, 2025, is an invitation for those who want to "absorb" Tuyen Vu's genuine emotions.
