
In her opening speech, Director of the National Archives Center I Tran Thi Mai Huong emphasized that the event was organized to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) - the day exactly eight decades ago, the Vietnamese people turned a new page in history - the history of a nation with independence and sovereignty .


The exhibition “Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom” is held in 3D online format, allowing viewers to experience virtual reality space and access archives quickly and conveniently, anytime, anywhere.
The exhibition introduces many documents, materials and typical images about the resilient struggle of the Vietnamese people during nearly a century under French colonial rule and the achievements of the country's construction and protection over the past 80 years, since its founding in 1945.
Along with the exhibition, the book “The Governor-General of Indochina in the past and the Presidential Palace today” provides viewers with useful and authentic information about the history of the country and people of Vietnam, contributing to educating the pride and patriotism of all classes of people, especially the youth.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Cao Huy emphasized that over the past 80 years, along with the growth of the country, the Archives sector has actively contributed to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, especially through activities promoting the value of archival documents.
The online exhibition “Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom” and the book “The Governor-General of Indochina in the past and the Presidential Palace today” are activities in a series of events organized by the State Records and Archives Department to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

Appreciating the efforts of the Archives sector in recent years to preserve and conserve precious historical values left by our ancestors, Mr. Cao Huy affirmed that this published product is historical and cultural, both carrying traditional values and applying digital technology according to the trend of the times. This is the right direction for the Archives sector in the context of the new technological revolution taking place strongly, at the same time contributing to the implementation of the Resolution of the Politburo towards breakthroughs in science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

Mr. Cao Huy hopes that in the coming time, the State Records and Archives Department will continue to innovate and create more effectively to promote the value of archival documents. In particular, the online exhibition "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom" and the book "The Governor-General's Palace of Indochina in the past and the Presidential Palace today" will widely spread the value, creating positive effects on the public at home and abroad.

The online exhibition “Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom” consists of 3 parts (Part 1: Dark night; Part 2: Vietnam - a resilient nation; Part 3: 80 years of the song of victory), introducing to the public valuable archives and illustrations about the resilient struggle of the Vietnamese people for nearly a century under colonial rule, as well as the journey of building the country in 80 years of independence. Notably, many of these documents are being widely published for the first time.
