Vietnam Licensing Expo 2025 (VLE 2025), taking place from November 13 to 15 at WTC EXPO International Exhibition Center, Binh Duong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, is expected to be a comprehensive bridge to help Vietnamese and international businesses access, cooperate and commercialize creative ideas.

The event was held in parallel with the Vietnam - Korea Iconic Character and Copyright Festival (VKCLF 2025), gathering more than 100 leading domestic and foreign enterprises, manufacturers, creative units, retailers, investors and IP owners. Hundreds of famous characters and brands such as Pokémon, Pikachu, Trang Quynh, Conan, Sakura , Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, SPYxFAMILY, Sanrio, Harry Potter, Tom & Jerry, and more than 30 IPs from Korea were introduced, opening up a multi-dimensional connection space between rich IP sources and potential commercialization markets in Vietnam.

Mr. Nguyen Pham Hoang Quan, Director of ProductionQ Joint Stock Company, shared that Vietnamese enterprises are increasingly focusing on developing IP associated with national cultural identity. His company brings two cinematic IPs, Ghost Stories Near Home (2022) and Tam Cam Di Truyen (2024), representing a creative direction with strong indigenous elements. "We have many unique materials from Vietnamese culture, life and people. The more purely Vietnamese, the more unique the IP is and the easier it is to make an impression on the international market. The important thing is to know how to combine national identity with a methodical and professional way of exploitation and distribution," said Mr. Quan.

According to Mr. Quan, developed countries in the field of copyright have built a very tight IP management system, from image assets, stories, to commercial exploitation guidelines. Vietnam can learn from this method, at the same time promote its unique cultural advantages to form international IP brands.

Mr. Im Kyong Seong, Director of the Korea Creative Content Agency in Vietnam (KOCCA Vietnam) said: "After 3 years of implementation, the event has recorded many encouraging results, attracting a large number of attendees and creating many opportunities for practical cooperation. In 2025, we believe that the Vietnam - Korea Iconic Character and Copyright Festival will continue to expand its influence, promote cultural exchange and creative cooperation between the two countries.

Mr. Le Van Thai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, said that along with the development trend of the global creative economy , Vietnam is focusing on building a creative cultural ecosystem, encouraging the exploitation of intellectual property and commercialization of content products. This is an orientation in line with the Strategy for the development of cultural industries to 2030 approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1755/QD-TTg, which identifies the cultural industry as one of the important driving forces to promote sustainable growth and spread Vietnamese cultural values to the world.

Through the event, the parties expect to create a solid foundation to spread cultural values, promote the development of the IP industry and bring Vietnamese creative products to the global market.

Mr. Thai emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City – the leading economic, cultural and creative center of the country – is making efforts to form a sustainable cultural industrial ecosystem. The city has issued many policies to support innovation, develop science and technology, transfer copyright and exploit intellectual property. In particular, UNESCO's official recognition of Ho Chi Minh City as a "Creative City in the field of Cinema" in October 2025 has affirmed the city's position in the international cultural industry network.
