On the morning of May 24, Comrade Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and representatives of the National Political Publishing House, Truth, received a delegation of leaders of the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China led by Comrade Truong Kien Xuan, Deputy Head of the Department, and representatives of the People's Publishing House of China. Also attending the meeting was the Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Wei Huaxiang.

At the reception, comrade Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue affirmed that cooperation and exchange programs on propaganda and culture between Ho Chi Minh City and Chinese localities are increasingly developing, especially when Vietnam and China have many similarities in this field.

Comrade Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue said that Ho Chi Minh City is stepping up propaganda activities towards the 50th anniversary of National Reunification in 2025, and the 50th anniversary of Saigon - Gia Dinh city being named after President Ho Chi Minh in 2026. Subcommittees preparing for this holiday have been established to organize the event in the most meaningful way. In addition, Ho Chi Minh City is also building a Ho Chi Minh cultural space to reflect the cultural characteristics of the city named after him.

Comrade Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue introduced to the delegation the vibrant press atmosphere in Ho Chi Minh City with many diverse information channels for all citizens and international friends.

Regarding the activities of the Truth National Political Publishing House, according to comrade Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue, this is a publishing agency with many valuable publications, contributing to more effective propaganda work, helping to spread positive information about Vietnam to the international community.

On behalf of the leaders of the City Party Committee and the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, comrade Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue wished the delegation an effective working trip, contributing to strengthening the friendship between the two countries.

Comrade Truong Kien Xuan expressed his pleasure in visiting Ho Chi Minh City and having the opportunity to exchange work with the Ho Chi Minh City Propaganda Department. According to comrade Truong Kien Xuan, in 2022, the talks between General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong set out directions and strategies to strengthen relations between the two countries, in which people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in propaganda and publishing play an important role.

Comrade Truong Kien Xuan said that the delegation's visit aims to implement the common perception of the two countries' leaders in the fields of culture and propaganda, using books as a bridge for cooperation between the two sides, and strengthening publishing cooperation through the signing of a cooperation agreement between the People's Publishing House of China and the National Political Publishing House of Truth.

Comrade Truong Kien Xuan made the following proposals: enhancing mutual learning about culture and people-to-people exchanges; promoting publishing cooperation, enhancing theoretical work exchanges; enhancing tourism cooperation associated with culture; cooperating in translation exchanges - translating many Vietnamese works into Chinese and vice versa - to help people of the two countries understand each other better.

Comrade Truong Kien Xuan invited the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the National Political Publishing House Truth to attend the Beijing International Book Fair in June 2023 and proposed that Ho Chi Minh City allow the opening of a Chinese book stall at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street.

Comrade Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue thanked the invitation and said he would arrange to attend and soon consider the request of comrade Truong Kien Xuan.
