Son La College constantly improves the quality of teaching and learning.

Established in October 1963 under the name of Son La Province's Level 1 Ethnic Pedagogical School, Son La College has now become one of the colleges and vocational schools, recruiting and training according to the regulations of the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs . As of August 2022, the whole school has 257 cadres and civil servants with professional qualifications: 03 PhDs, 180 masters, 60 university degrees, 01 college degree and 13 other qualifications. The school's cadres and civil servants are considered the core force, making great contributions to the cause of building the quality of education at Son La College in particular and the training career of Son La province in general.

Currently, the School has 19 units, including: 06 functional departments, 09 faculties and 04 centers. The facilities are all equipped synchronously and modernly with a 4-storey Headquarters building with enough rooms and working equipment for the Board of Directors, faculties, departments, centers, unions, and socio- political organizations. The School has a lecture hall with 100 classrooms, 2 lecture halls with 100 seats, 01 Electronic Library Center, 05 dormitories serving nearly 2,000 students, students and Laotian international students staying in the dormitory, including 01 5-storey dormitory with 60 rooms reserved for Laotian international students with full amenities, and a specialized classroom with 3 rooms (Music, Fine Arts, Dance); Multi-functional gymnasium (serving the specialized sports block and sports activities of students) and school garden system with an area of 10,000 m2.

In the spirit of determination, solidarity, initiative, creativity and constant efforts, in recent years, Son La College has achieved many achievements in teaching and learning. Especially in the 2021-2022 school year, the school has paid attention to and directed the enrollment work, the results of the intermediate level were 945 students, reaching 100%, the college level was 184 students, reaching 92% of the set target and the enrollment and training of 1,412 students. As a result, in the 2021-2022 school year, the whole school had 25 students with excellent titles, 96 students with good titles, 454 students with good titles and 184 students with average titles. The graduation recognition results included: 7 excellent students, 80 good students, 305 good students and 78 average students. In addition, the school's lecturers and staff have implemented 14 topics/projects, proposed 9 solutions to propose recognition of school-level initiatives, carried out 06 provincial-level science and technology tasks and were unanimously selected by the Provincial Selection Advisory Council for 01 topic proposed by the school to be implemented in 2022.

In addition to focusing on improving the quality of teaching and learning, in the 2021 - 2022 school year, the school continued to cooperate with 14 universities, opening 28 classes with 1,451 students in the following majors: Electrical systems; Accounting; Economic Law; Primary Education; Office Administration; Land Management; Social Work; ... At the same time, constantly paying attention to training; Scientific research; Planning - Finance; Testing, inspection, ensuring education quality and supervision; Organizing staff and building teams; Improving the material and spiritual life of officials and employees; National defense and security education; Building facilities, landscapes and environments to be increasingly spacious, modern and clean.

Also in the 2021-2022 school year, the school completed a self-assessment report on the quality of vocational training institutions and self-assessment of training programs in key occupations in 2021. At the same time, it proactively coordinated with the external assessment team of Vietnam Education Consulting and Testing Joint Stock Company to conduct surveys and assessments according to the criteria and standards prescribed by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in a serious, objective and complete manner. As a result, 06 training programs met the quality assessment standards. The total of the assessed standards reached 95/100 points in Decision No. 89/QD-KDGDVN dated October 20, 2022.

With its achievements, Son La College has been evaluated by the Emulation Bloc of Professional and Vocational Schools of Son La province as a leading unit, meeting the criteria for the excellent emulation flag of the Provincial People's Committee and has been awarded the Emulation Flag by the Prime Minister for its excellent and comprehensive completion of educational and training tasks, leading the patriotic emulation movement in the 2021-2022 school year of Son La province./.
