In 2025, Foreign Trade University will recruit students according to 4 methods with 4,180 regular university quotas for both the Hanoi headquarters and affiliated facilities (Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh).
4 methods include: using high school learning results (method 1); using high school graduation exam results 2025 (method 2); using domestic and international competency assessment certificates (method 3); direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (method 4).
Each method includes many different groups of subjects, so candidates with international language certificates can still use method 2 to be considered for admission by combining the certificate with the high school graduation exam results of the remaining 2 subjects (math, literature; math, physics; math, chemistry).

Foreign Trade University has specific regulations on the conversion of international certificates (assessment of competence and foreign languages): IELTS 8.0 - 9.0 or higher is calculated as 10 points in English; IELTS 7.5 is equivalent to 9.5 points.
For candidates with SAT scores, they can only convert to scores of 2 subjects, and the score of the 3rd subject (foreign language) must use a foreign language certificate to convert. The converted SAT score starts at 1,380, equivalent to 18/20 points. Those who score from 1,550 - 1,600 SAT points are converted to 20/30 points.
The following are the conversion tables for international certificates and national awards:
Regarding the equivalent conversion of input thresholds and admission scores between groups and admission methods, the school will announce after the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam are available.
