Schools focus on post-flood recovery

Immediately after the flood receded, Phuoc Giang commune focused on repairing and cleaning up after the flood, especially at schools in the commune, in order to welcome students back to school soon.

Rising floodwaters caused Hanh Dung Kindergarten to be submerged about 0.6m deep. Immediately after the flood receded, more than 25 teachers and staff of the school gathered to clean up the school yard and classrooms with the motto of cleaning up wherever the water receded.

According to Ms. Tieu Thi My Le, Principal of Hanh Dung Kindergarten, Phuoc Giang commune has three schools deeply submerged in floodwaters. This morning, the local government mobilized forces to participate in overcoming the consequences, cleaning up facilities and the environment to soon stabilize teaching and learning activities after the flood.

The floods have caused nearly 2,000 households and many constructions in Phuoc Giang commune to be submerged 1-2 meters deep. Immediately after the flood receded, the locality is making efforts to support people to overcome the consequences of the flood, in order to stabilize their lives soon.
