Tan Lien Secondary School was established in 2000 under Decision No. 373/QD-UBND dated August 28, 2000 of the Department of Education and Training of Lang Son province. The school is located in a commune with difficult socio -economic conditions, the infrastructure system is still lacking, the roads are difficult to travel, the proportion of students is mainly Tay and Nung ethnic groups. In recent years, Tan Lien Secondary School has received attention from the State for investment in building facilities and equipment in a synchronous direction, meeting the criteria of a national standard school. In the 2024 - 2025 school year, the school has 8 classes with 227 students and 15 staff, teachers and employees. The rate of good and excellent students is over 70%; the rate of direct promotion to the next grade is 100%; the rate of 9th grade students graduating from secondary school is 100%. The school has always carried out well the emulation movements: "Building a friendly school, active students"; "Teaching well - Learning well" associated with the effective implementation of the campaign "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style".
