At the annual press conference on the afternoon of June 26, Mr. Tran Thanh Vuong - Head of the Department of Building Family Cultural Lifestyle, Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City gave feedback.
The Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City plays an advisory role with the authorities, while promoting and strengthening communication activities so that artists and celebrities are responsible to the community in each advertising product.
The Department of Culture also strictly implements the review of dossiers on advertising products of milk and functional foods according to legal regulations.
The Department requires businesses to set up general electronic information pages and businesses providing social networking services in Ho Chi Minh City to proactively review and remove advertisements related to fake, counterfeit, and poor quality goods.
"We will increase communication activities so that not only celebrities and artists but also the public are responsible in using and promptly reporting when discovering poor quality products," said a representative of the Department.
In addition, the Prime Minister 's telegram No. 40 dated April 17, 2025 and telegram No. 55 dated May 2, 2025 directed the strict handling of the production, distribution, and trade of fake milk and functional foods.

"Current laws do not have specific regulations for handling artists and celebrities participating in advertising activities.
This means that whether a celebrity or an ordinary person is the same, there is no distinction and no different application," Mr. Tran Thanh Vuong added.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued Decision No. 3196 regarding the code of conduct for people working in the arts field.
Individuals participating in advertising activities must ensure that they convey clear, honest and accurate information about product uses.
The Ministry of Culture has asked authorities to step up punishment when artists and celebrities take advantage of their artistic activities to violate the law.
In addition, the National Assembly also approved the draft amended and supplemented Advertising Law, effective from January 1, 2026. This draft includes specific and detailed regulations, clearly stating the responsibilities of celebrities when participating in advertising with more different handling behaviors.
