Van Hugo, how did BTV Quang Minh "brag" about Hiup?

Hiup milk was once introduced to the market as a "golden food" for children, with dense promotions on social networks, promotional videos and product introduction seminars.

In particular, the appearance of actress - MC Van Hugo and journalist - BTV Quang Minh has given this product a "coat" of prestige that many parents absolutely trust.

In product introduction videos, MC Van Hugo did not hesitate to share that her son "used to be skinny, but after using Hiup milk, he ate well, slept well, and gained weight significantly." This MC also emphasized: "As a mother, I choose products very carefully. And Hiup conquered me from the first time I learned about it."

Tapping into the psychology of many parents wanting their children to grow tall, Van Hugo often introduces Hiup - a milk brand produced in Vietnam. The advertisements: "Just drink it and you'll be tall, regardless of your short parents. Guaranteed to make your child 3 - 5cm taller after 3 months. For children from 3 - 15 years old"... are constantly repeated, making many people "haunted".

Van Hugo even asserted that her stunted growth was due to nutrition, that she was born with dwarfism, and that taking calcium supplements would not make her taller, but drinking milk would definitely make her taller. These advertisements are widespread on online sales platforms and social networks.

Editor Quang Minh also regularly appears in a video promoting Hiup milk. He affirmed the prestige of the product when standing next to his son named Duc Anh and introducing: "Now he is 14-15 years old and has a height that is superior to his father. How can my child have a height of 1m78 now? I have applied it to all 4 of you, that is 2 glasses of Hiup milk every day..." - the advertising words that have made many viewers absolutely believe.

And also during the past time, when mentioning Hiup milk, consumers all know the image of Van Hugo "talking nonstop" next to the warehouse, constantly "closing orders". From the "guarantee" of famous people, many families have trusted, bought and used it.

Celebrities' actions when Hiup milk was found to be fake: Immediately become victims!

On May 19, the authorities initiated a case related to Hiup products identified as counterfeit. Accordingly, the investigation results so far determined that "HIUP 27 nutritional product" packaged in boxes and cans of powdered milk in three types of 420g, 650g and 800g does not ensure the ingredients and nutritional content, is counterfeit.

The authorities also determined that the testing documents and circulation records showed signs of being falsified or distorted. Notably, this product sample did not contain enough micronutrients as declared.

The incident not only poses potential health risks to young children – the product's primary target group – but also raises serious questions about the ethical responsibilities of celebrities who have lent a hand in the massive promotional campaign.

While the Hiup milk distribution company is being investigated for producing and trading counterfeit goods, public opinion has also begun to "re-examine" the role of celebrities.

And on the night of June 19, BTV Quang Minh and Van Hugo simultaneously posted "I was deceived and I choose to speak up". At the same time, they announced that they would sue the company for providing false information about the product.

Editor Quang Minh and Van Hugo admitted to being the "victims" - so who will be responsible for the consumers, those who trusted the advertisements and bought and used the products in the past?

And where does the social responsibility of celebrities come in? When they choose to be the face and storyteller of a product, celebrities need to understand that they are not just selling their presence – they are also selling the public’s trust.

Hiup is not an isolated case. In the current market, hundreds of functional food products, colostrum, immune-boosting drugs, brain tonics, digestive aids... are still being labeled as "miracle drugs" by familiar faces - from singers, actors, MCs to self-proclaimed doctors and professors.

Many people have been "exposed" but then the matter was buried, and the cycle of promotion - sales, and consequences continued. This time the community demanded more serious handling, to avoid "old tricks" being "rehashed" after a period of silence.
