According to the Session's agenda, the National Assembly spent the morning of May 14 discussing the draft Resolution of the National Assembly amending and supplementing a number of articles of the 2013 Constitution and the draft Law on Organization of Local Government (amended).

The meeting was televised and broadcast live for voters and people to follow.

The National Assembly also discussed shortening the term of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term; and listened to the presentation of the Report on the National Election Day for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

During the working week, the National Assembly gave opinions on many draft laws and resolutions. The draft laws considered and commented on by the National Assembly include: Law on Personal Data Protection; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Civil Procedure Code, the Administrative Procedure Law, the Juvenile Justice Law, the Bankruptcy Law and the Law on Mediation and Dialogue at Court; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies; Law on Science, Technology and Innovation; Law on Cadres and Civil Servants (amended); Law on Management and Investment of State Capital in Enterprises.

Along with that, the National Assembly also discussed the following Law projects: Law on Corporate Income Tax (amended); Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Product and Goods Quality; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Vietnamese Nationality; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Bidding, Law on Investment under the Public-Private Partnership model, Law on Customs, Law on Export Tax and Import Tax, Law on Investment, Law on Public Investment, Law on Management and Use of Public Assets; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Credit Institutions; Law on Atomic Energy (amended); Law on Participation in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force; Law on State Budget (amended); Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Handling of Administrative Violations; Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Promulgation of Legal Normative Documents; Law on Inspection (amended).

The draft resolutions reviewed and commented by the National Assembly include: Resolution of the National Assembly replacing Resolution No. 35/2021/QH15 dated November 13, 2021 of the National Assembly on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Hai Phong city; Resolution of the National Assembly amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Internal Regulations of the National Assembly session issued together with Resolution No. 71/2022/QH15 of the National Assembly.

The National Assembly listened to the Submission and the Report on the examination of the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on extending the period of exemption from agricultural land use tax as stipulated in Resolution No. 55/2010/QH12 of the National Assembly on exemption and reduction of agricultural land use tax, which was amended and supplemented by a number of articles under Resolution No. 28/2016/QH14 and Resolution No. 107/2020/QH14; the Submission and the Report on the examination of the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on reducing value added tax.

Also during the working week, the National Assembly listened to the presentation of the State budget settlement report for 2023, the State budget settlement audit report for 2023 and the Verification report on this content.
