The Opening Ceremony of the Film Week Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) took place on April 24, 2024, at Dien Bien Phu Cinema.
The documentary “Memories of the Torchbearers” and the feature film “Peach, Pho and Piano” will be screened to serve the audience at the opening ceremony.
The Department of Cinema (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) said that the Film Week commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory will take place from April 24-30, 2024, in Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province, including 3 main activities: Film screening program, opening ceremony and exchange program between the film crew and the audience.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned the Department of Cinema to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province, Feature Film Joint Stock Company I, Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio One Member Limited Liability Company, People's Army Cinema, and Dien Bien Provincial Cultural and Cinema Center to organize.
Films screened in the Film Week commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory include: Documentary film "Memories of the torchbearers" produced by the People's Army Cinema in 2019; Documentary film "Accompanying history" produced by the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio One Member Limited Liability Company in 2024; Feature film "Rose Squad" produced by the People's Army Cinema in 2023. Feature film "Peach, Pho and Piano" produced by Feature Film Joint Stock Company I in 2023.
In addition to screening films for audiences, the Dien Bien Phu cinema lobby will display documentary photos of Vietnam Revolutionary Cinema participating in the Dien Bien Phu campaign.
Within the framework of the activities of this Anniversary Film Week, the Department of Cinema organized an exchange program between film crews and officers and soldiers of Regiment 82, Division 355, Military Region 2 (April 25, 2024) and with officers, teachers and students of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (April 26, 2024).
The films screened include: Documentary “Memories of the Torchbearers” ; feature film “Rose Squad” ; feature film “Peach, Pho and Piano.”
According to the Department of Cinema, the Film Week commemorating the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory is organized with the aim of widely promoting the historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions of our nation; highlighting the role, stature and great historical significance of the Dien Bien Phu campaign and the resistance war against France in the cause of national independence.
At the same time, propagate and disseminate the Party's guidelines, policies and the State's laws; contribute to improving people's knowledge and serving people's cultural enjoyment needs.
The Organizing Committee hopes that, through the films screened at this film week, they will contribute to educating historical traditions, fostering and promoting patriotism, revolutionary heroism, solidarity, pride and national self-reliance; affirming the achievements of our Party and people in the cause of national liberation, construction and defense./.
