Before the afternoon training session on September 23, Coach Mai Duc Chung also took the time to remind and instruct his players about the shortcomings in the first match. After that, the coaching staff divided the team into two groups, the full-time players did recovery exercises. Meanwhile, the remaining group continued to practice tactical exercises. Sharing about yesterday's match against the Nepalese women's team, midfielder Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy said: "The Nepalese women's team is a tough opponent. Although we had previously won two matches at their home ground in April, since then, the Nepalese women's team has made investments and progressed in tactics. Therefore, I think Nepal, Bangladesh and Japan are all strong opponents."
After the match with Nepal, the players who had little time on the field worked out at the hotel gym before going out to practice in the afternoon. “The whole team and I will try our best in every match. I will try my best to aim to win 3 points with my teammates in every match,” Bich Thuy affirmed.
After the first round of matches in Group D, the Vietnamese women's team is ranked second with 3 points, equal with Japan but behind due to a lower goal difference. The Vietnamese women's team will meet Bangladesh, ranked 29th in Asia and 142nd in the world (according to FIFA rankings). In the first match, they lost to the Japanese women's team with a score of 0-8.
