During this afternoon's training session, head coach Mai Duc Chung directly guided his players right from the warm-up to get them in the best physical condition for the following exercises. The Japanese women's team is a strong opponent in Group D, ranked 8th in the world on the FIFA rankings and is currently the top team in Asia. Therefore, coach Mai Duc Chung focused on training the players on how to deploy tactics and coordinate in each specific situation.

Sharing at the training session this afternoon, striker Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang said: “My personal goal is to try to improve myself and show my full potential when the coaching staff trusts me and gives me the opportunity. To prepare for the tournament, I have also focused and tried to practice to be able to fulfill the requirements of the coaching staff. As a striker, I hope to be able to score goals, contributing to bringing the Vietnamese women's team deeper into the next round."
After two matches in the group stage, the Vietnamese women's team has won two matches against Nepal (2-0) and Bangladesh (6-1), with the same 6 points as Japan but ranked second due to a lower sub-index. In the final match, the Vietnamese women's team will meet Japan, if they get points, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will be sure to secure a ticket to the next round.
In case of losing by a small margin, the Vietnamese women's team will compete with the 3 second-placed teams in groups A, B and E (group C only has 2 teams participating so the second-placed team will not be counted). The opponents competing for the quarter-final ticket with the Vietnamese women's team are expected to be Uzbekistan (group A), Thailand or Chinese Taipei (group B) and the Philippines or Myanmar (group E). Thus, the Vietnamese women's team has a chance to enter the quarter-finals and the chance will be quite high if Bangladesh wins against Nepal or if Uzbekistan does not win or wins against Mongolia by a small margin, or if the Vietnamese women's team scores or loses to Japan by a small margin.
Tomorrow morning, September 28, the Vietnamese women's team will have a professional meeting and analyze video footage of previous matches of the Japanese women's team to better understand their opponents, preparing for the match at 3:00 p.m. tomorrow afternoon (Vietnam time) at Wenzhou Olympic Stadium in Wenzhou.
