University Admissions 2025: Important milestones candidates need to note

In the official dispatch guiding university and college admissions, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the timelines for admission registration, adjustment of wishes, virtual filtering process, announcement of benchmark scores, admission confirmation... that candidates need to pay attention to in 2025.

Direct admission and separate admission must be registered in the system.

In this dispatch, the Ministry of Education and Training noted that all candidates participating in university and college admissions (including candidates admitted directly) must register for admission online, submitting all admission wishes to the Ministry's General Admission Support System (directly at http://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn or indirectly through the National Public Service Portal).

Candidates need to carefully study the admission information and admission regulations of training institutions, and not apply for majors or training programs that do not meet the requirements.

In 2025, university admissions will have some changes, so candidates need to pay attention to the timelines and admission regulations.

In case schools organize separate forms of admission registration, submit applications and evidence directly or online at the school, candidates must follow the school's regulations but still have to register on the system to be considered for admission together with all other candidates.

Candidates must declare accurately and be responsible for the information, including information to enjoy regional priority and priority subjects (if any) at the time of registration for the 2025 high school graduation exam. The declared information must be honest and accurate. The information of the candidate's permanent residence at each stage will be checked and verified by the authorities based on the population database.

University Admissions 2025 has 6 virtual filtering times

For candidates applying for direct admission, priority will be given to admission according to the current Admission Regulations, and applications must be submitted to training institutions before 5:00 p.m. on June 30. Successful candidates will receive admission information from the schools before July 15 and must continue to register their admission wishes on the system according to the general schedule.

According to the instructions of the Department of Education and Training, candidates use the assigned account to check their high school academic results (report cards) on the system and must report back to the teachers responsible for the high school where the candidates studied to correct errors (if any) and complete before 5:00 p.m. on June 6.

Candidates who have graduated from high school or college (independent candidates) who want to register for admission but have not yet registered personal information on the system must register to receive an account from July 10-20.

From July 16 to 5:00 p.m. on July 28, candidates can register, adjust, and add their wishes an unlimited number of times. From July 29 to 5:00 p.m. on August 5, candidates must pay the admission fee according to the number of wishes online according to the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, on August 16, the Ministry of Education and Training will upload the database to the system and organize the admission exam. Then, within 4 days, from August 17 to 20, the system will filter out the fake ones. Accordingly, the ministry will upload the admission exam results of the schools to the system (the admission exam results of all admission methods) and return the application processing results to the schools 6 times to produce the final results.

After 6 virtual filtering rounds, by 5:00 p.m. on August 20, schools will enter the admission scores and admission results into the system. Review and prepare to announce the first round of admission results according to the general schedule.

Before 5:00 p.m. on August 30, all admitted candidates must confirm their enrollment on the system (if they wish to study).

From September 1 to December 2025, candidates who need to apply for additional admission rounds must follow the admission information posted on the training institution's admission information page.
