After a 2-2 draw at My Dinh Stadium in the first leg of the final, the Vietnamese team will have a rematch with the Thai team at Thammasat Stadium in the second leg of the AFF Cup 2022 on the evening of January 16.
With the draw in the first leg, the Vietnamese team entered the second leg of the final with the pressure of having to win or draw with the opponent with a score of 3-3 or more. Coach Park Hang Seo made many adjustments in terms of personnel when Tuan Anh, Van Duc, Van Thanh, Viet Anh and Thanh Binh were on the field from the start.
Right after the opening whistle, the Thai team played an attacking game to put pressure on the Vietnamese team. In the 5th minute, Bui Hoang Viet Anh made a mistake that allowed Adisak to advance and enter the penalty area, but the striker's shot was inaccurate. However, the home team continued to show superiority in ball control and organization in their play. In the 58th minute, Hoang Duc dribbled from the midfield, approached the penalty area and decided to take a long shot, but the ball unfortunately missed the outside post.
