On September 16, doctors at Tien Yen District Medical Center ( Quang Ninh province) examined a patient's ear and removed a bug.
Previously, the patient had ear pain, tinnitus, and hearing loss, so he went to Tien Yen District Medical Center for examination. Through examination and ENT examination, doctors discovered a living bug in the patient's ear canal.
The patient was ordered by the doctor to undergo endoscopy to remove the foreign object. The object removed was a bug about 3cm long and 1cm wide.
After the bug was removed and the ear was cleaned, the patient's earache gradually subsided.
According to Dr. Luc Thanh Huy - the person who directly removed the foreign object from the patient, if the insect is not removed from the ear, it can crawl deeper into the ear canal, causing a perforated eardrum or infection or ear inflammation.
The best way is to take the patient to the nearest medical facility. Absolutely avoid removing foreign objects with unsanitary personal tools that can damage the eardrum, affect hearing ability, or cause the foreign object to go deeper, affecting the eardrum.
Doctor Huy gives instructions on how to prevent insects from entering the ear: keep the house clean and airy to limit insect hiding places. Before going to bed, clean the bed, avoid sleeping on the ground or damp places.
"If the family has young children, when the child is healthy and normal, has no fever, no runny nose, but has symptoms of pain, itching, or discharge from the ear, parents should think about the possibility of parasitic insects and take them to a medical facility for examination immediately for timely treatment, to avoid unfortunate consequences," Dr. Huy emphasized.
