In 2026, research and implementation of phase 2 of Long Thanh international airport

That is one of the important orientations on infrastructure development stated in the Resolution on the 2026 socio-economic development plan recently passed by the National Assembly on the morning of November 13.

Speeding up the implementation of urban railway lines in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City

The Resolution determines that in 2026, it will focus on investing in construction and ensuring the progress of synchronous, modern, smart, and nationally and internationally connected strategic infrastructure projects, especially key transport projects, railway systems, international airport systems, seaport systems, and energy infrastructure.

Promote the development of inter-regional projects and large urban infrastructure, digital transformation infrastructure; adjust planning to suit the new context.

Along with that, the National Assembly requested the Government and agencies to speed up the implementation of the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line and the urban railway lines in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Complete the survey and design of regional and international railway lines, some sections of the North-South high-speed railway; invest in developing the road and highway system connecting regions and areas and with neighboring countries.

Research and implement phase 2 of Long Thanh international airport; ensure construction progress of Gia Binh international airport… Urgently implement the project of Can Gio international transit port, Hon Khoai port and several other potential seaports.

The Resolution also identifies the development of energy infrastructure to meet economic growth requirements; continues to effectively implement the adjusted Power Plan VIII; builds outstanding mechanisms and policies to attract and implement important and urgent national energy projects; ensures the progress of the Ninh Thuan 1 and Ninh Thuan 2 Nuclear Power Plant projects.

Perfecting mechanisms and policies for developing special economic zones of Van Don, Van Phong, and Phu Quoc

The Resolution determines that in 2026, we will focus on synchronously perfecting institutions and laws, strongly innovating thinking, promoting strategic breakthroughs, and improving the effectiveness of law enforcement organization.

Step up cutting and simplifying administrative procedures, improve the investment and business environment; tighten discipline and order, further promote the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity.

Along with that, focus on perfecting the synchronous institutions and laws, focusing on the laws on investment and business to liberate production capacity, mobilize all resources and create new driving forces for development.
