At the Ho Chi Minh City economic and social press conference on the afternoon of November 13, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health provided feedback on Binh Duong General Hospital.
Accordingly, after the merger, the Ho Chi Minh City health system expanded its management scope to include the provinces of Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (old). In particular, Binh Duong General Hospital was identified as a key facility of the Southeast medical cluster of the city, playing a central role in the network of providing medical examination, treatment and professional training services in the area.
Currently, Binh Duong General Hospital has a total of 1,566 staff and employees, including 383 doctors, 99 pharmacists, 659 nurses, 110 midwives and 71 medical technicians.
This is the core force that will be transferred and assigned to work at the new facility with a scale of 1,500 beds, ensuring the maintenance of stable and smooth professional activities during the transition period.
Based on the assessment of the current situation and orientation for professional development of the hospital in the coming time, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health will develop a comprehensive plan for transferring, arranging and training the hospital's human resources.
This is done on the principle of ensuring no interruption in medical examination and treatment activities; arranging and transferring human resources reasonably between departments and rooms, giving priority to key specialties.
At the same time, standardize job positions and organizational structure in accordance with the general hospital model.
In the direction of specialized development, Binh Duong General Hospital focuses on investing in key specialties, forming a strong professional system, fulfilling the role of a modern, specialized general hospital.
The focus is on developing the fields of orthopedics, interventional cardiology, intensive care and oncology with the aim of improving emergency capacity, treating complex cases, and reducing disability and mortality rates.
At the same time, the hospital aims to expand endovascular intervention techniques, urology - andrology, pediatric resuscitation and specialized obstetrics, while enhancing its capacity for reproductive support, prenatal diagnosis, genetics and anesthesia and resuscitation.
The field of oncology is focused comprehensively from screening, early detection to multi-modal treatment; pathology and nuclear medicine techniques are considered the foundation for improving the quality of diagnosis and treatment.
In addition, we also pay attention to developing the hematology - blood transfusion specialty, ensuring safe blood supply, effective treatment of malignant hematological diseases, standardizing and modernizing infrastructure and medical equipment to comprehensively support the specialties.
With the above development orientation, the Department of Health will continue to coordinate with relevant units in perfecting the organizational model, training human resources and deploying specialized techniques, contributing to building Binh Duong General Hospital into a specialized, modern general hospital with high professional capacity, meeting the medical examination and treatment needs of people in the Southeast of the city and neighboring provinces.
Hope Binh Duong General Hospital with 1,500 beds will soon be put into operation
After the merger, Binh Duong General Hospital is the largest hospital in Ho Chi Minh City with an area of 16 hectares and a scale of 1,500 beds, breaking the record of the City Children's Hospital (more than 10 hectares, 1,000 beds).
Construction began in 2014, but after more than 10 years, the 1,500-bed general hospital is still "late" and cannot be put into operation on schedule, affecting people's medical examination and treatment.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has proposed that the Binh Duong Construction Investment Project Management Board speed up the progress of putting the 1,500-bed Binh Duong General Hospital project into operation in 2026.
