On the morning of November 10, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced that Military Hospital 175 had received 131 patients suspected of food poisoning after eating bread, all of whom were children, the oldest only 15 years old.
Thus, up to now, a total of 202 people have been hospitalized after eating bread purchased at 2 branches of the C. bread chain (branch 1 on Nguyen Thai Son street, Hanh Thong ward and branch 2 on Le Quang Dinh street, Binh Loi Trung ward). Most of the patients have been discharged from the hospital but there are still dozens of inpatients, some of whom are serious.

There are 8 hospitals reporting cases, of which the ones receiving the most are Military Hospital 175: 131 cases; Tam Anh Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City: 20 cases (including 1 case in intensive care - anti-poisoning); Gia Dinh People's Hospital: 36 cases (including 1 case admitted on November 5, blood culture results positive for Salmonella bacteria); Binh Dan Hospital: 1 case; My Duc Hospital (old Tan Binh district): 1 case of a pregnant woman 34 weeks pregnant; Becamex International Hospital: 6 cases; Trung My Tay General Hospital (old District 12 Hospital): 5 cases and Children's Hospital 2: 2 cases.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health , initially, clinical and paraclinical data of most patients with food poisoning after eating bread are consistent with intestinal bacteria, most likely Salmonella bacteria.
The Department of Health said it had sent a written report on the incident to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Ministry of Health . At the same time, it directed hospitals to ensure that they receive, classify, and treat patients in accordance with the issued treatment regimen for food poisoning. Hospitals were required to promptly report to the Department.
Previously, after discovering many people were hospitalized after eating bread suspected of food poisoning, the People's Committee of Hanh Thong Ward established an inspection team to verify and seal the food at the bakery branch 1 on Nguyen Thai Son Street.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety has also temporarily suspended the bread branch on Nguyen Thai Son Street, taken food and environmental samples to conduct professional steps to determine the cause of the poisoning according to its authority.
Branch 2 on Le Quang Dinh Street (the sandwich shop is just a pushcart, selling on the sidewalk at 363 Le Quang Dinh) has stopped operating since the morning of November 7.
The incident of hundreds of people hospitalized with suspected food poisoning after eating bread is being verified and clarified by authorities.
