Among these, two more hospitals recorded new cases.
Specifically, Central America West General Hospital received 5 cases (including 1 case at Branch 2) and the patients are being treated as inpatients. Children's Hospital 2 received 2 cases, both of whom are being treated as inpatients.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said it had sent a document to the City People's Committee and the Ministry of Health , and directed hospitals to ensure the admission, classification and treatment of patients in accordance with the food poisoning treatment regimen issued by the department.
Hospitals must promptly report to the Medical Affairs Department (Department of Health) on the admission situation, the number of severe cases, microbiology results and complications (if any), so that the department can promptly coordinate and agree on treatment regimens. The Department of Health will continue to update information when there are unusual developments.
On the same afternoon, speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , a representative of the emergency department of Military Hospital 175 said that on the same day, the unit had received 5 more patients with food poisoning. Thus, up to now, the number of poisoning cases received by the hospital is 105, of which 4 are severe cases being monitored and treated at the hospital.
Previously, on November 7, the Department of Food Safety coordinated with the People's Committee of Hanh Thong Ward to establish an investigation team to handle food poisoning at the bakery at the two branches above.
Accordingly, at Nguyen Thai Son branch, the verification results of Hanh Thong Ward People's Committee recorded that the restaurant had a business registration by the People's Committee of Go Vap District (old) in 2020, and a certificate of food safety knowledge in 2017 from the Hoc Mon District Preventive Medicine Center.
The business line of the establishment is selling bread, the owner is Ms. LNNBV. At the time of inspection, the business was temporarily suspended, with two regular employees.
A report from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety shows that foods including pork rolls, cold cuts, pate, eggs, vegetables, chili, cucumbers, etc. all have invoices and documents proving their clear origins.
The facility is equipped with a refrigerator to preserve food and has a record book for importing and exporting goods. Processing and preservation tools must be hygienic; the processing area has a roof and measures to protect it from insects and harmful animals.
The inspection team sealed the food cabinets to verify and investigate the cause of the incident.
As for branch 2 on Le Quang Dinh street, when inspected on November 8, the facility had stopped operating. According to information from the surrounding people, the sandwich shop is just a pushcart, selling on the sidewalk and has been selling for more than a year.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, clinical and paraclinical data of most patients with food poisoning after eating bread are consistent with intestinal bacteria, most likely Salmonella .
Tuoi Tre Online 's research shows that This is a branded bakery, has been in business for over 30 years, is very popular, and is bought by many people in the area. The shop usually announces its opening hours from 6am to 7pm.
