Cold air strengthens, Central region is about to welcome heavy rain

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of increased cold air combined with high altitude divergence, from the night of November 13 to 15, in the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, there will be little cloud and sunny days.

During the nights from November 13 to 15, the lowest temperatures in the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will drop sharply, generally between 16-18 degrees Celsius, in the mountainous areas of the North, some places will be below 13 degrees Celsius. At night and early morning in these areas, it will be cold, in the high mountains, some places will be very cold.

Specific weather in each region on the night of November 13 and 14 is as follows:

In the Northwest region, it is sunny during the day, no rain at night, light wind. At night and early morning it is cold, with some places being very cold. The lowest temperature is commonly 15-18 degrees Celsius, with some places below 14 degrees Celsius; the highest is 25-28 degrees Celsius, with some places above 28 degrees Celsius.

The Northeast region also has sunny days and no rain at night, with northeast to north winds at level 2-3. At night and early morning it is cold, with some places in the highlands being very cold. The lowest temperature is 15-18 degrees Celsius, in the mountains it is below 14 degrees Celsius; the highest is 25-28 degrees Celsius, with some places above 28 degrees Celsius.

The area from Thanh Hoa to Hue is cloudy with rain in some places, sunny in the afternoon. North to Northwest wind level 2-3. At night and early morning, it is cold in the North, cold in the South. Lowest temperature 17-20 degrees Celsius, in the South 20-22 degrees Celsius; highest 25-28 degrees Celsius.

In the South Central Coast region, there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places at night, and sunny days. Northeast to North wind level 2-3. Lowest temperature 22-25 degrees Celsius, highest 28-31 degrees Celsius.

In the Central Highlands, there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night; sunny and light wind during the day. Lowest temperature 19-22 degrees Celsius, highest 27-30 degrees Celsius.

Southern region has scattered showers and thunderstorms, light winds. Lowest temperature 23-26 degrees Celsius, highest 30-33 degrees Celsius.

In Hanoi , it is sunny during the day and rainless at night. The wind is from the Northeast to the North at level 2-3. At night and early morning it is cold, with the lowest temperature ranging from 16-18 degrees Celsius and the highest from 26-28 degrees Celsius.

Ho Chi Minh City has scattered showers and thunderstorms, light winds. Lowest temperature from 24-26 degrees Celsius, highest from 31-33 degrees Celsius.

Warning of the possibility of heavy rain from South Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa

From around the night of November 15 to November 18, the area from South Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa will have moderate to heavy rain with common rainfall of 150-300mm, locally over 400mm. Some areas will have heavier rain such as Hue, Da Nang , Eastern Quang Ngai and Gia Lai, with common rainfall of 250-500mm, locally over 700mm.

From November 19, widespread heavy rain is likely to continue to occur in Da Nang city, the eastern part of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa . Warning of the risk of heavy rain (>200mm/3h).

Warning level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, hail: level 1, especially in Hue, Da Nang, eastern Quang Ngai and Gia Lai level 2.

Heavy rain can cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams; and landslides on steep slopes.
