Vietnam U17 women's team aims to pass the second qualifying round of the 2024 U17 Asia Championship

(CPV) - Answering the media before the opening match of the 2024 Asian U17 Women's Qualifier Round 2, head coach of the Vietnam U17 Women's Team Akira Ijiri said that the whole team had prepared well and set the goal of passing the 2nd qualifying round.

On September 19, speaking at a press conference before the opening match of Group B of the 2024 Asian U17 Women's Qualifiers, Head Coach of Vietnam U17 Women's Team, Mr. Akira Ijiri, said that the whole team had prepared well and was ready for the matches in the 2nd Asian Qualifiers. "We are ready for the 2nd qualifying round this time. For Vietnam U17 Women's Team, all opponents are the same. We will all play our best. The Vietnam national team has participated in the 2023 Women's World Cup finals, so it has received a lot of attention from the media. Therefore, we must also fight 100% to continue the good things," said Coach Akira Ijiri.

Coach Akira also affirmed: "We set a goal of passing the qualifying round to enter the final round, entering the top 8 to meet strong teams. That way the players will have the opportunity to face stronger opponents. That is also our goal in the second qualifying round."

Also at the press conference, coach Raeanne Dower of the Australian women's U17 team expressed her gratitude for being warmly welcomed by the host country Vietnam. "Vietnam, the Philippines and Australia all had good results at the recent World Cup, which is the motivation for young players to hope to one day step onto the world stage. We set high goals for this qualifying round," the Australian women's U17 coach added.

Coach Sinisha Cohadzic of the Philippines U17 women's team commented: "The team has 20 days to prepare for the qualifying round, including a 5-day training session in Manila. The Philippines is participating in the World Cup, so we also want to achieve good results in the second qualifying round this time."

Meanwhile, coach Mahbubur Rahman Litu - head coach of Bangladesh U17 women's team said: "We have trained for 3 months to prepare for this tournament. All 3 opponents are very strong, we will try our best to contribute beautiful matches and achieve good results. We came here to learn, my young players all lack international competition experience so this is a good opportunity for them".

Group B of the 2024 AFC U17 Women's Championship Qualifiers includes Australia, Bangladesh, Philippines and host Vietnam. According to the match schedule, the Vietnam U17 Women's Team will meet Bangladesh U17 Women on September 20; Australia U17 Women on September 22 and the final match will be against the Philippines U17 Women on September 24./.
