U17 Thailand left the Asian tournament empty-handed

Thailand U17 disappointed in Asian tournament.

The match between Thailand U17 and China was just a formality, as both teams had been eliminated in the previous round. However, the players still entered the match with the highest spirit. Silva Mexes, a Thai-born prodigy who plays for Manchester United's youth team, was given the opportunity to start.

In the first half, U17 Thailand played proactively and created a few opportunities. However, Natthakit Phosri and the "War Elephants" attackers could not take advantage.

After a shaky start, China U17 responded with a series of shots by Wei Zijian and Wei Xiangxin. However, the goal did not come to the East Asian representative.

The turning point came early in the second half, when China were awarded a penalty in the 56th minute. Buniyaming Abudoushalamu was given the responsibility and made no mistake to open the scoring. Just two minutes later, it was Jiang Zhiqin's turn to exploit the gap in the Thai defense to finish with his left foot, doubling the gap.

In the rest of the match, Thailand U17 only had one significant chance, which was Phosri's shot. However, a Chinese player managed to clear the ball right before the goal line.

In Group A, U17 Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia won tickets to continue, and also participated in the World Cup taking place in November in Qatar.

Previously, another Southeast Asian representative, Indonesia U17, won a ticket to the World Cup. Vietnam U17 also has a chance to go to Qatar if they defeat UAE in the match taking place at 10pm tonight (April 10).
