As head coach Kim Sang-sik is leading the national team to play two matches against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers, the coaching of Vietnam U23 continues to be assigned to Acting Head Coach Dinh Hong Vinh.
According to plan, U23 Vietnam will practice at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center ( Hanoi ) until October 6, before leaving for the UAE for training.

Here, the team will have two friendly matches with U23 Qatar, which are highly appreciated for their professional quality, on October 9 and 13. This is an important opportunity for U23 Vietnam to practice tactics, perfect the squad and gain experience.
Next, in November 2025, U23 Vietnam will participate in an international tournament in China.
The tournament is expected to bring together U23 China, U23 Vietnam and two other strong teams from the continent, promising to be a valuable preparation step before key tasks at the end of the year.
Sharing before this afternoon's training session, Coach Dinh Hong Vinh emphasized: "The two friendly matches with U23 Qatar in the upcoming training session are very important, helping to test and evaluate a number of potential players.
The whole team is trying everything to achieve the goal of winning the 33rd SEA Games gold medal and going deep in the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.
Evaluating rookie Vadim Nguyen, coach Dinh Hong Vinh said: “We highly appreciate this player. The coaching staff always has regular exchanges with head coach Kim Sang-sik to build criteria for selecting the best personnel for the team.”
Regarding Viktor Le's late arrival, coach Dinh Hong Vinh said that this player suffered a minor injury from the match at the club and had difficult travel conditions due to the storm: "Viktor just arrived this morning and was able to participate in the training session. The coaching staff sympathized and shared so that the player could have the best preparation."
At the 2026 AFC U23 Championship, U23 Vietnam is in Group A with host Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Kyrgyzstan.
