U23 Vietnam arrives in Qatar, ready for the International U23 Cup -

On the afternoon of March 18, the first group of the Vietnam U23 team arrived in Doha, Qatar after a flight of more than 7 hours. At the airport, coach Philippe Troussier and his team received a warm welcome from representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Qatar.

According to the schedule, the second group consisting of the remaining members of the Vietnam U23 team will depart from Hanoi at 7:30 p.m. today and will arrive in Doha at 11:30 p.m. (local time), or 3:30 a.m. on March 19 (Vietnam time).

In Doha, the U23 Vietnam team was arranged by the Organizing Committee to stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. This is one of the most comfortable hotels, which was the base of the German and Saudi Arabian teams at the recent 2022 World Cup.

Coach Philippe Troussier and his team will have a long flight and will have time to rest and recover before going to the training field. The players will have a relaxing gym session at the hotel.

Tomorrow, after gathering all the players, the whole team will enter the first training session before the group stage matches. It is expected that the U23 Vietnam team will have about 3 training sessions before the International U23 Cup - Doha .

The tournament features 10 U23 teams: Vietnam, Thailand, Iraq, UAE, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Saudi Arabia, South Korea and host Qatar. The teams are paired to play 2 matches in the group stage, then ranked based on their results to pair up in the final round.

According to the match schedule, the U23 Vietnam team will meet the Iraq team at 2:45 a.m. on March 23 and meet the U23 UAE team at 00:30 a.m. on March 26 (Vietnam time) in the group stage.
