At the meeting, the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) reported the results of the Project on establishing a management profile for swidden fields in the planning of 3 types of forests in the province; the results of reviewing related contents on organizing ecotourism and recreation activities in the forest according to the provisions of Decree No. 91/2024/ND-CP dated August 17, 2024 of the Government. Accordingly, in order to synchronously deploy solutions to serve forest management in the province, under the direction of the leaders of the DARD, the leaders of the Forest Protection Department; the contractor has coordinated with the consulting unit in charge of building a smart forest monitoring system to serve digital transformation in forestry in the province and professional staff of the Forest Protection Department; to update swidden field management data into the smart forest monitoring system software (FMS_NinhThuan) on the WebGIS platform. The results of the investigation, measurement, and data collection at the site of the area of land with swidden cultivation in 3 types of forests in the area, with the total area of swidden cultivation land measured at more than 15,740 ha/13,687 plots of land. Of which, the area of special-use forest land accounts for more than 3,614 ha, equivalent to 22.964%. Protective forest land has the largest area with nearly 7,852 ha, accounting for 49.883%. Production forest land accounts for nearly 4,274 ha, equivalent to 27.153% of the total area.

Implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee in Official Dispatch No. 2395/UBND-KTTH dated June 7, 2019 on developing a sustainable forest management plan and a project for ecotourism, resort and entertainment in the forest, up to now, 8 forest owners have developed and submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval a sustainable forest management plan until 2030 in accordance with the provisions of Point a, Clause 1, Article 27 of the Forestry Law; 7 forest owners have developed and had their projects for ecotourism, resort and entertainment in the forest approved by the Provincial People's Committee. After the Provincial People's Committee issued the approval decision, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development issued a document urging and guiding the implementation of the project. The forest owners coordinated with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ninh Thuan Radio and Television, Ninh Thuan Newspaper to publicly announce the project; at the same time, posted the content of the project and the decision approving the project on the websites of the units; Issue a decision to establish a project implementation team at the unit to coordinate with selected organizations and individuals renting the forest environment to develop specific plans and establish projects to use the forest environment for business services, ecotourism, resorts, and entertainment in accordance with the approved project content.
The meeting listened to the leaders of the Nui Chua National Park Management Board report on the operational plan of the Nui Chua Biosphere Reserve Steering Committee. Accordingly, in 2024, the Nui Chua Biosphere Reserve Steering Committee has implemented activities such as: Seminars and meetings to provide information on biodiversity values, conservation and protection of natural resources, cultural values, people and the importance of Nui Chua Biosphere Reserve to relevant agencies, units, localities and local communities; develop regulations on environmental management and protection; organize an online forum to report on biosphere activities in 2023 and the direction for 2024 of Nui Chua Biosphere Reserve...
Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that based on the data of the Project on ecotourism, resort and entertainment in the forest, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development update and complete the map of forestry land use planning and demarcate the boundaries of shifting cultivation areas with forest areas; develop livelihood models associated with forests so that people consider forest protection and development as one of the pillars of sustainable development.
