Provincial People's Committee deploys key tasks for June 2023

On June 5, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to review the direction and management of socio -economic development in May and deploy key tasks in June 2023. Comrade Phan Tan Canh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were Comrade Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments and branches.

In May 2023, with the drastic direction of the Provincial People's Committee, key and breakthrough tasks were focused on and implemented by departments, branches and localities to ensure and contribute to the recovery and promotion of socio-economic growth. The agricultural , industrial and service production sectors all had a good growth rate compared to the same period. The work of regulating irrigation water for the summer-autumn crop was focused on, 1,847 hectares were planted, crop structure was converted, large-scale field production models were replicated, and high technology was applied to production with positive results. Some key products continued to recover and grow, the industrial production index in the month increased by 9.41%; trade and service activities continued to grow steadily, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue were estimated at VND 3,254 billion, up 13.9%; Tourism activities recovered strongly, attracting 360,000 visitors, up 1.35% over the same period last year. Investment projects were accelerated; total budget revenue in the province in the month reached 301.85 billion VND, accumulated revenue in the first 5 months of the year reached 1,527.9 billion VND; the banking system operated stably and safely, bad debt was controlled. The labor and employment situation was stable, social security policies were fully and promptly implemented; national defense and security were maintained.

In addition to the achieved results, there are still some limitations such as: Industrial growth is lower than planned; some construction and processing products still have difficulties in consumption markets and input materials; the disbursement rate of public investment capital is low; some key projects have slow progress, revenue from land use is low; child injuries have not been controlled. At the meeting, the sectors and localities pointed out the advantages and difficulties in the implementation of tasks in May; solutions and proposals to enhance the coordination role of units and localities in performing tasks, ensuring the completion of the set targets from now until the end of the year.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Phan Tan Canh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested departments, branches and localities to implement key tasks more drastically; in which, continue to closely follow the resolutions of the Government and the Provincial Party Committee, develop leadership and direction plans that are close to the actual tasks of each unit and facility. Focus on organizing production associated with crop conversion, maintaining and expanding effective production models; strengthen the fight against illegal fishing, and do a good job of forest protection. Urge to speed up the implementation of investment projects in construction and business of infrastructure in industrial zones and clusters; promote support and remove difficulties for businesses. Proactively review and accelerate the completion of planning projects, especially the general planning project of Phan Rang-Thap Cham City; convert Thanh Son military airport into a dual-use airport; promote disbursement of public investment capital and effectively implement national target programs. Carefully prepare a series of events at the ceremony to receive the UNESCO Certificate of Recognition of “Cham Pottery Art” on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding and the Grape-Wine Festival; safely organize the 2023 High School Graduation Exam. Improve the operational efficiency of the state apparatus, reform administrative procedures and public service.
