Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee and VinGroup Corporation signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement on green transformation.

On November 23, in order to promote economic development plans and improve the provincial green index (PGI), the People's Committee of Vinh Phuc province and Vingroup Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding on comprehensive cooperation on green transformation. The signing ceremony took place within the framework of the Conference "Green transformation - awareness and action for a sustainable future of Vinh Phuc", aiming to maximize the strengths of each party to promote green transformation and sustainable development in the locality, contributing to reducing net emissions to 0 (Net Zero). According to the memorandum of understanding, the People's Committee of Vinh Phuc province will coordinate with Vingroup Corporation to research and develop the Green Transformation, Green Growth, and Sustainable Development Program of the province for the period 2025 - 2030. In particular, the key areas of green transformation include Green Tourism, Green Industry, Green Agriculture , Green Urban Infrastructure, Green Transport, and Green Lifestyle. The People's Committee of Vinh Phuc province will also promote and accompany the program "Fierce Vietnamese Spirit - For a Green Future" launched by Vingroup through specific actions such as researching and introducing locations for charging stations; supporting and creating conditions for people, civil servants and public employees in the province to make a green transition to using electric cars and electric motorbikes; prioritizing Vietnamese people to use high-quality Vietnamese goods; gradually promoting environmentally friendly tourism and travel. The People's Committee of the province will also research and implement a plan to use electric buses in the province, ensuring that it is suitable for the conditions, actual situation and green energy conversion roadmap as prescribed in Decision No. 876/QD-TTg dated July 22, 2022 of the Prime Minister.

The two sides also seek opportunities and create conditions for businesses in Vinh Phuc province to participate in the supply chain and ecosystem of Vingroup, and at the same time have cooperative activities to improve capacity, promote investment, trade and production with businesses in the province. Speaking at the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement, Mr. Tran Duy Dong - Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee said: "The signing of the comprehensive cooperation agreement with Vingroup is a new and important boost in the process of building a developed and sustainable Vinh Phuc, aiming to concretize the objectives of the Project to attract strategic investors to invest in Vinh Phuc province until 2023 and the Project to support connection, linkage and cooperation between provincial enterprises and FDI enterprises, gradually participating in the global supply chain, improving provincial competitiveness. Vinh Phuc Provincial Government believes that Vingroup will bring specific, creative and effective solutions in the areas where the province is in need of attracting investment". The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also acknowledged and highly appreciated Vingroup for actively and proactively implementing activities and events on the sidelines of the Conference. With the determination of both sides, the Chairman of Vinh Phuc Provincial People's Committee hopes that the signed contents will be implemented, achieving practical results and reaping many successes.
