EFFECTIVE SUPPORT FOR TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES

At Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted, a pioneer in digital transformation in education, all teachers are proficient in using software to support lesson planning, such as: Powerpoint, Canva, iMindmap, Quizizz, Google Forms. In particular, the exploitation of AI tools (ChatGPT, Grammarly, Quillbot...) is carried out regularly, helping teachers design scientific, vivid teaching content suitable for students' abilities. The teaching staff proactively updates and applies technology, including AI, to build test banks, and conduct regular and periodic testing and evaluation.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, an English teacher, bought advanced AI packages to teach students and prepare for the IELTS exam, and saw a significant increase in work efficiency. Nguyen Thanh Thao, a 10A13 English major student who won third prize in the National Excellent Student English Contest for 12th graders, said that she has been using ChatGPT for more than a year, and that it is very useful for learning English, especially writing skills.

Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted also uploads school records, professional group records and personal records to the eDoc education ecosystem; uses dozens of software to serve management and teaching, such as software for managing online test banks, mixing test questions, grading tests and electronic contact books. AI technology is integrated into the system to support the analysis of learning data, identify knowledge gaps; thereby suggesting exercises and types of questions suitable for each group of students. AI is also used to organize online mock tests, with automatic scoring functions and detailed results statistics.

Thanks to that, students are trained in high school graduation exam skills in real-life conditions, improving review efficiency. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung, Principal of the school informed: Most teachers are proficient in using teaching software. Some teachers use AI in preparing lessons and evaluating students' learning outcomes. The school uses many free software to support learning such as Viettel's K12Online, SHub Classroom, Quizizz. AI supports teachers very effectively, especially in the subjects of English, Geography, and Math.

Not only at the high school level, secondary schools in the province have also proactively applied technology to organize periodic tests and mock exams for grade 10. Vinh Yen Secondary School has invested in an internal network system and internet connection to each classroom, and coordinated with Viettel to deploy the K12Online online learning and testing system. All classrooms are equipped with projectors. Students and teachers have enough equipment, connection, and software to participate in online teaching and learning activities. Students grasp AI very quickly, most of them know how to use ChatGPT to serve their studies. Teachers often share AI software and applications; some teachers have been "addicted" to ChatGPT since this product first appeared.

Principal Trieu Thi Thanh Ha said: Applying information technology has become a common job for teachers. They use AI to design creative lessons, organize games, practice questions for 9th grade students, and guide students on good commands. Teacher Bui Tuan Loi, a math and information technology teacher, affirmed: AI supports teachers a lot. There are applications like AI, students just need to take a photo of the question, send it up and they will be supported very effectively.

FORMING DIGITAL COMPETENCIES FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS

To keep up with digital changes, Vinh Phuc High School for the Gifted has repeatedly invited Mr. Nguyen Song Nam, Director of VLAB Innovation, to the school to introduce AI. The school plans to provide AI training to all staff and teachers in the near future.

Most high schools in Vinh Phuc use software and AI in exam preparation, testing and assessment of students' abilities. Vice Principal of Vinh Yen High School, Mr. Le Hong Thai, said: The school has invited experts to talk about AI. Up to now, about 50% of the school's teachers use AI tools in their work. It is necessary to continue to improve teachers' awareness of AI, invest in infrastructure for telecommunications and internet. Students need to get into the habit of using AI in activities.

Deputy Director of Vinh Phuc Department of Education and Training Pham Khuong Duy said: The Department has issued many documents directing and implementing digital transformation plans to educational institutions; training to improve digital capacity and digital skills for managers, teachers and staff. Department leaders conduct inspections and evaluate the progress of digital transformation implementation at units through the online system, and at the end of the school year, evaluate the level of digital transformation at schools.

Up to now, all educational institutions using the school management platform have been set up, connected and synchronized with the Industry Database, the high school graduation exam system, college and university admissions and the admission system at the beginning of the school year. All institutions exploit and use online learning material repositories shared on digital platforms and the Vinh Phuc educational resource library system. The Department is urgently directing the implementation of digital transcripts and digital signatures. The survey shows that many schools want to be trained in digital transformation, AI application, and synchronization of admission software with database software. Some schools have proposed to be supplemented with studio equipment, smart screen systems, and financial support for comprehensive digital transformation and the construction of digital libraries.

In the coming time, the Vinh Phuc education sector will advise the province to invest in facilities and information technology infrastructure for educational institutions; increase training courses, update digital skills and digital capacity. At the same time, the Department of Education and Training will integrate management platforms into a shared database to serve management when the district level is abolished.
