For the first time, the Vietnam Health Forum was held on an international scale with the participation of more than 300 guests who are leaders of leading international organizations in the world's health sector ; leading experts, doctors and scientists from countries with advanced systems such as Denmark, Australia, the US and France.
In his opening speech, Major General, Professor, Doctor Le Huu Song - Director of 108 Military Central Hospital affirmed and emphasized the role of applying big data and AI in healthcare. Applying big data and AI in healthcare is a common trend in the world and Vietnam is no exception, helping to improve the quality of healthcare, optimize processes and reduce costs.
108 Military Central Hospital is currently implementing the process of standardizing medical imaging data, examination and treatment data to create a synchronous and reliable data platform, serving artificial intelligence (AI) applications in medical examination, treatment and hospital management.
The goal of this activity is to build a Big Data platform to serve the training of AI models to support image diagnosis, treatment prediction, disease risk warning, and at the same time improve the quality of hospital management and operation in a modern, smart and effective direction.
The conference had 5 discussion sessions, revolving around the following issues: Global health challenges and solutions; AI in Vietnam's healthcare management; Big data and AI in healthcare: Medicine of the future; Big data and AI in clinical diagnosis (specifically cancer treatment); AI and data science in treatment and care.
AI in Vietnam's healthcare management was a topic of interest at the conference. Solutions to healthcare management issues in Vietnam were also mentioned with proposals such as the need to standardize healthcare data nationwide, ensure electronic medical records connectivity; build a clear legal corridor for the application of AI in healthcare;...
The program will discuss the application of Digital Health technology and tools to support doctors in improving the quality of patient diagnosis and treatment. These contents are expected to contribute to promoting innovation in the healthcare system, towards a new approach - smart, accurate and humane in healthcare in the digital age.
In addition, experts also proposed solutions to overcome challenges in systematizing medical big data, enhancing connections between experts, and building a sustainable, patient-centered healthcare system; at the same time, opening up practical proposals to address challenges in applying big data and AI in the healthcare system in Vietnam.
Through the 2025 Healthcare Forum, units and organizations not only share practical experiences in healthcare management and innovation, but also serve as a strategic connection platform, facilitating cross-sectoral cooperation projects, contributing to improving the quality of healthcare in Vietnam and enhancing Vietnam's presence in global initiatives.
