Applying AI intelligence in vocational education development

The workshop aims to create a forum for in-depth exchange between scientists , experts, lecturers, management agencies and businesses on the application of artificial intelligence in teaching, administration and assessment of vocational training, contributing to improving the quality of national human resources in the digital age.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, Dr. Pham Quang Thao, emphasized that in the context of the 4th industrial revolution and national digital transformation, AI is becoming a fundamental technology to help vocational education innovate comprehensively. This is an important step for Vietnam to move towards the model of "smart vocational education", contributing to building a highly skilled workforce that can adapt to the country's new development requirements.

The application of AI in vocational education development has opened an important step in the journey of digital transformation of Vietnam's vocational education, towards the goal of building a highly skilled workforce, adapting to the digital age and integrating globally.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, former Deputy Director of the Department of International Relations ( Government Office ), AI is bringing about a breakthrough in automating the teaching process, personalizing learning and simulating vocational skills. With the ability to analyze big data, AI helps learners to be trained according to their abilities, supports lecturers in content development, evaluates results, and optimizes school management. Along with that, AI can expand teaching and learning methods, for example, simulation, virtual reality, virtual assistants to guide skills, helping learners access faster and more flexibly. AI has the ability to automate processes, analyze big data and personalize learning experiences, thereby helping to increase the effectiveness of vocational training.

From the implementation, Master Le Viet Cuong, Hanoi College of Electronics and Refrigeration shared that AI is becoming one of the fundamental technologies of the digital age, having a profound impact on all fields, especially vocational education - where human resources are trained to directly serve production, services and technological innovation.

The application of AI in vocational education not only helps improve the quality of teaching and learning, but also contributes to the formation of a cooperative ecosystem between schools, businesses and experts, aiming to develop digital capacity and adaptive skills for staff, lecturers and students. However, the rate of vocational schools applying AI regularly is still low, less than 10%, due to the lack of technology-savvy human resources, unsynchronized infrastructure and concerns about investment costs. To overcome this, he proposed to strengthen digital capacity training for lecturers, build open learning materials on AI and promote 3-party cooperation "State-school-enterprise".

At the workshop, experts and teachers shared the view that AI is not only a support tool, but also a strategic platform to help Vietnam's vocational education strongly transform from a traditional training model to a smart, digital and internationally integrated training model... In addition, at the workshop, it was proposed to establish an annual Forum on AI in Vietnam's vocational education, connecting schools, research institutes, technology enterprises and policy makers to jointly implement cooperation programs, pilot and replicate the Smart TVET Center model in key economic regions...
