UNIQLO, a global fashion retailer from Japan, has been named for the first time in the Top 100 Best Global Brands by international brand consultancy Interbrand, one of the world's most prestigious and influential brand rankings. Appearing in the top half of the rankings, at number 47, UNIQLO's brand value reached 17.7 billion USD. This information was announced after UNIQLO made its debut in the BrandZ Global Top 100 ranking by market research firm Kantar earlier this year, and was also honored as a 'Breakthrough Brand' at the annual Kantar Brand Blueprint Awards, confirming the strong increase in brand recognition and popularity globally.

Commenting on the announcement, Koji Yanai, Senior Executive Officer of Fast Retailing Group, said: "We are honored to be included in Interbrand's prestigious Best Global Brands 2025 rankings for the first time. This international recognition gives the UNIQLO team great motivation as we see more and more customers around the world embracing LifeWear - simple, high-quality clothes that are timeless and make people's lives better. We would like to express our deep gratitude to all our customers around the world for their continued support of UNIQLO."

Every year, Interbrand analyzes and ranks the world's top brands, based on three main criteria: financial performance, international presence, and brand awareness and strength, with a special focus on customer loyalty. In this year's report, Interbrand rated UNIQLO as a brand that has always been steadfast in putting customers first, constantly striving to meet consumers' needs and affirming its sustainable position in their lives.

This recognition follows UNIQLO’s Breakthrough Brand award at the second Kantar Brand Blueprint Awards, held in June. The award celebrates fast-growing brands that create meaningful differentiation from their peers, achieving three elements: meaningful, different, and outstanding on a global scale. Entering 2025, UNIQLO also appeared for the first time in Kantar's BrandZ Global Top 100 ranking - the world's top 100 most valuable brands, at position 97, marking a year of strong breakthrough for the brand globally.

Being recognized in these prestigious global rankings is a testament to the growing appeal of the LifeWear philosophy, which aims to improve people's quality of life through clothing. Since opening its first store in Hiroshima, Japan in 1984, UNIQLO has grown to over 2,500 retail stores in 26 countries and territories worldwide.

In the fiscal year 2025 ending August 2025, Fast Retailing Group, the parent company of UNIQLO, recorded a record operating profit of 564.3 billion yen (approximately $3.69 billion), up 13% year-on-year and exceeding forecasts. This impressive growth was contributed by revenue and profit in the North American market increasing 24.5% and 35.1%, respectively, showing strong resilience outside the domestic market. In Japan, domestic revenue also surpassed the 1,000 billion yen mark for the first time, marking a historic milestone for the group.

In addition to its impressive financial results, UNIQLO continues to affirm its "LifeWear" philosophy as a global standard, aiming to "fundamentally transform the concept of clothing and initiate a movement to make LifeWear the new standard". The brand maintains its distinct identity by focusing on high-quality basics and advanced technologies such as AIRism, HEATTECH, and collaborative collections with renowned designers such as JW Anderson, Lemaire and Clare Waight Keller, contributing to strengthening its global reputation.

Notably, Mr. Tadashi Yanai, Founder and Chairman of Fast Retailing Group, was recently honored by Forbes with the "Malcolm S. Forbes Lifetime Achievement Award", recognizing his vision and enduring contributions in reshaping the global fashion retail industry.
