
This is an activity within the framework of the working trip of the State Securities Commission of Vietnam delegation to Australia from November 10-14, 2025, to attend the 2025 Annual Conference of the Australian Securities and Investment Commission with the theme "Australia in a dynamic world ".
At the meeting, Chairman of the Australian Securities and Investment Commission Joseph Longo congratulated the Vietnamese stock market on being upgraded from a frontier market to an emerging market, assessing this as an important milestone, demonstrating positive progress of the Vietnamese stock market.
He said that over the past time, the Australian Securities and Investment Commission has always accompanied the State Securities Commission of Vietnam in reforming, improving management capacity and developing the market. Since the two agencies signed the Memorandum of Understanding in August 2024, many coordinated activities have been implemented, such as organizing conferences, seminars and training programs on sustainable finance, corporate governance, inspection, supervision and prevention of fraudulent behavior on social networks.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairwoman of the State Securities Commission of Vietnam Vu Thi Chan Phuong acknowledged and highly appreciated the practical cooperation activities between the two agencies in recent times, contributing to supporting the development of the Vietnamese stock market.
She expressed her hope that in the coming time, the State Securities Commission of Vietnam and the Australian Securities and Investment Commission will continue to strengthen exchanges and share experiences in inspection, supervision, enforcement, capital mobilization, corporate bond issuance, fund industry development and new products; at the same time, promote training programs to improve corporate governance capacity for listed enterprises.
Ms. Vu Thi Chan Phuong said that the Vietnamese Government has issued Resolution No. 05/2025/NQ-CP on piloting the crypto-asset trading market and requested the Australian Securities and Investments Commission to share its experience in managing and developing the crypto-asset market in Australia, considering this an important reference source for the implementation process in Vietnam.
Mr. Joseph Longo shared information about the model of managing the crypto asset market in Australia, affirming his willingness to cooperate and exchange experiences with the State Securities Commission in areas of mutual interest. The working session took place in an open and effective atmosphere, contributing to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two securities management agencies, creating a premise for specific coordination activities in the coming time.
On the same afternoon, in Melbourne, a delegation from the State Securities Commission of Vietnam had a working session with Vanguard Global Investment Fund, one of the world's largest asset management organizations, currently managing a total portfolio value of nearly 13,000 billion USD. The two sides discussed cooperation opportunities and attracting foreign investment capital into the Vietnamese stock market.
Representatives of Vanguard Global Investment Fund highly appreciated the efforts of the State Securities Commission to reform, perfect the legal framework and improve the investment environment, especially the new policies to support international investors. The Fund said it is preparing to deploy investment activities in Vietnam after the market is upgraded, including opening trading accounts and indirect capital accounts. According to representatives of Vanguard Global Investment Fund, this will be an important testing phase, helping global investors experience the real investment environment in Vietnam.
The working session with Vanguard Global Investment Fund affirmed the determination of the State Securities Commission in the process of modernizing the stock market, improving transparency and building a safe, professional, sustainable investment environment, meeting the expectations of the international investor community.
