HAGL is about to be safe
The V-League relegation race has reached a climax, as Da Nang FC (bottom of the table) is rising, while Binh Dinh (13th), SLNA (12th) and Quang Nam (11th) are playing inconsistently, leading to them being caught up in points. Meanwhile, some teams have taken advantage of the opportunity to move closer to the relegation threshold, including HAGL.
At Pleiku Stadium in round 22, coach Le Quang Trai's team overcame difficulties to defeat The Cong Viettel with a score of 2-1. In which, HAGL's winning goal was scored in the 90+9 minute, after a sharp counterattack ended with a close-range shot by Dung Quang Nho.

HAGL has won both of their last two matches at Pleiku Stadium, taking 6 out of a possible 9 points in the last 3 matches. This result has brought the mountain town team up to 8th place with 27 points after 22 matches. This is a score that almost reaches the safety threshold.
HAGL is 10 points ahead of the bottom team Da Nang with a superior goal difference (-1 compared to -20), in the context of only 4 rounds left in the V-League. Da Nang Club can only surpass HAGL with a single scenario: winning all 4 remaining matches, while the mountain town team loses all. This is an unlikely possibility, as Da Nang needs to win more matches than what this team won in... the previous 22 matches (3 matches).
As for Binh Dinh's play-off position, HAGL is 8 points ahead. Although Binh Dinh still has 1 make-up match, it is the match against Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) at Quy Nhon Stadium. Also at Quy Nhon last season, Binh Dinh Club won 4-2. However, the situation has changed when the martial arts team has declined this season, and CAHN Club needs to win to enter the top 3.
To surpass HAGL, Binh Dinh needs at least 9 points in the remaining 5 matches, equivalent to 3 wins. That is a difficult goal to conquer, when Binh Dinh still has 3 extremely "difficult" obstacles in front of them: CAHN Club, Viettel The Cong and Hanoi, not to mention Hai Phong and Thanh Hoa are also not easy to play at home.

Thus, HAGL has a relatively safe distance ahead of both the bottom team and the second-to-last team to stay in the V-League next season.
In the remaining 4 matches, HAGL will face Nam Dinh, Da Nang, SLNA and Quang Nam. If they play at their best, Tran Minh Vuong and his teammates can get at least 3 to 5 more points.
Exciting till the end
In the last 5 seasons, only counting the seasons with 26 rounds, the 13th position (equivalent to the play-off spot with the first division team) respectively belonged to Saigon Club (2022) with 22 points, Thanh Hoa Club (2019) with 26 points, Nam Dinh Club (2018) with 24 points, Can Tho Club (2017) with 22 points and Long An Club (2016) with 19 points.
Going back to the 2015 and 2014 seasons, the second-to-last teams only had 24 and 21 points respectively. Thus, the threshold for staying in the V-League is usually 27 points. Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem of Hai Phong set a slightly higher number, which is 28 points.
If we take 27 points as a benchmark, then Hai Phong (28 points) and HAGL (27 points) can rest assured. Ho Chi Minh City Club (25 points) needs 2 more points, and Binh Duong (26 points) needs 1 more point.
Based on the performance of the last 5 matches (winning 8 points), it is predicted that Da Nang Club can win 6 more points in the remaining 4 matches to end the season with 23 points. As for Binh Dinh Club, it is 3 to 5 points in the remaining 5 matches and end the season with 22 to 24 points.
What is more important for HAGL, Binh Duong or Hai Phong to feel secure is that the bottom teams are about to compete internally with each other, meaning they will be holding each other back and cannot all rise together. For example, Da Nang Club will meet Quang Nam (round 23) and SLNA (round 26).
Most likely, the relegation race will take place among the teams Quang Nam (22 points), SLNA (20 points), Binh Dinh (19 points) and Da Nang (17 points). Coincidentally, 3 out of these 4 teams will meet HAGL in the final rounds. HAGL's playing attitude will greatly affect the survival race in the V-League.
