(CLO) On November 1, in Vung Tau City, the Green Development Journalism Club towards Net zero (Green Media HUB) and the Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper organized a workshop on "The role of press and business leaders in sustainable development".
The workshop was attended by more than 100 delegates representing the Vietnam Journalists Association , the Institute of Strategy and Policy of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, leaders of central and local press agencies in Ho Chi Minh City and representatives of businesses.

At the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho, Director of the Institute of Policy and Strategy of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment , systematized the overall picture of the sustainable development policy towards Net zero Carbon of the Vietnamese Government and the latest international regulations related to sustainable development and combating climate change globally that Vietnam needs to comply with.

Representative of the Vietnam Journalists Association, journalist Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association in charge of the South said: "The press has the responsibility to connect journalists across the country, propagate the policies of the Party and State, and fulfill its role and mission to be a forum for the people, providing information on socio-economic situations...
The role of newspaper leaders is very important. Leaders need to orient topics for reporters to achieve high efficiency in propaganda work. We plan to organize media articles and participate in organizing many in-depth training activities on green development for the team of reporters."
Overview of the workshop
Journalist Mai Ngoc Phuoc, Editor-in-Chief of Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper, said that the advantage of Green Media HUB is that it gathers leading journalists, managers, and experts in Vietnam. This is very convenient for implementing key communication campaigns that Green Media HUB is doing and will do in the near future, such as green energy, green transportation, green consumption, and green transportation.
Journalist Le Xuan Trung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre newspaper, said that a large-scale Green Development Journalism Award will be held with a total prize of nearly 1 billion VND to encourage many quality works.
Along with that, delegates also focused on the challenges that Vietnamese enterprises are facing in the green transformation towards a sustainable circular economy, responding to the global rules of the game against climate change.
