Taking advantage of the sunny days, the people of Pau village, Duong Quy commune gathered in the fields to tie and fix broken and fallen rice fields, and quickly harvested the ripe rice fields to recover some of the effort they had put in (photo below).

Ms. Hoang Thi Tim, Pau village, Duong Quy commune, Van Ban district shared: “Now everything has fallen and sprouted. When it is sunny, people take advantage of the time to harvest, and every grain they can find is a good one. The seeds are not yet ripe but have sprouted because the tree fell. After harvesting, we plan to clear them to plant corn and sweet potatoes.”

The commune directed the villages and hamlets to proactively take appropriate remedial measures depending on the actual situation, in which priority was given to "rescuing" the salvageable area and studying production recovery plans, in order to register seed needs.

Mr. Ha Manh Thang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Duong Quy Commune, Van Ban District said: "Organize teams to help families in difficult circumstances, families with revolutionary contributions, and families in difficult circumstances to promptly harvest flooded agricultural areas. We encourage people to register completely lost areas with the district so that they can receive support from the State for seeds to focus on this coming winter crop."

To restore production, specialized agencies have received and distributed more than 4,000 kg of seeds to farmers.

Storm No. 3 caused economic damage to Van Ban district estimated at over 140 billion VND. Of which, agricultural production had more than 400 hectares of rice and corn broken; floods also damaged 23 hectares of vegetables, more than 85 hectares of forestry trees; many aquaculture areas of local people were washed away. To restore production, specialized agencies received and distributed more than 4,000 kg of seeds to farmers.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Thien, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Van Ban district said: "The fields have been harvested for two varieties of corn and sticky corn to ensure the crop schedule. For vegetable varieties, the communes have now registered to carry out concentrated winter crop production with high spirit."
