Vietnamese culture and cuisine make a deep impression at the United Nations

On June 5, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York (USA), the 2024 UN International Bazaar was held, organized by the United Nations Ladies and Gentlemen's Club.

Participating in the Fair are about 50 booths selling handicraft products and traditional dishes of member countries.

According to VNA correspondent in New York, attending the opening ceremony of the Fair were President of the 78th United Nations General Assembly Dennis Francis and his wife, along with many Ambassadors, representatives and numerous family members of the United Nations Delegations and Secretariat.

Continuing the annual tradition, Vietnam contributed 2 booths to the fair. The handicraft booth “Hand-made in Viet Nam” attracted special attention from international friends, with many sophisticated products made of ceramic, lacquer, brocade and silk materials imbued with Vietnamese culture...

Meanwhile, the “Vietnamese Kitchen” booth with specialties such as spring rolls, pate and pork roll sandwiches, and iced milk coffee once again made a deep impression and received many compliments from visitors to the fair.

In particular, this year, the Vietnamese booths were honored to welcome the President of the United Nations General Assembly Dennis Francis and his wife to visit. After learning about and enjoying traditional Vietnamese dishes, Mr. and Mrs. Francis expressed their wish to soon have the opportunity to visit Vietnam to directly experience more of the culture and cuisine here.

At the end of the 2024 International Cultural and Culinary Fair, Vietnam was one of the countries that contributed the most from sales revenue to the charity fund of the event organizers.

The UN International Bazaar is organized annually by the United Nations Ladies and Gentlemen Club to promote exchanges and strengthen ties between member countries, while raising funds to support humanitarian activities and projects. The fair organizers said that this year, more than 1,000 visitors came to visit, buy souvenirs and enjoy the cuisine.

For the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, regular and active participation in this meaningful cultural diplomacy activity not only aims to promote to the international community and the diplomatic corps at home the good values ​​of the country and people of Vietnam, but also contributes to strengthening solidarity and cohesion among members of the Association of Wives and Husbands of Delegation officials and Vietnamese agencies in New York, USA./.
