Up to now, Van Lang district People's Committee has cleared over 95% of the area of 2 projects. To complete the GPMB work in May 2025, Van Lang district People's Committee is stepping up propaganda and mobilizing households with houses in the project to move to temporary housing and speeding up the construction progress of resettlement areas.
To construct the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang border gate expressway and the Dong Dang ( Lang Son ) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) expressway, the entire district has 197 households that have to relocate. To create new accommodation for the households, the People's Committee of Van Lang district has completed detailed planning for the construction of 3 resettlement areas with an area of 7.66 hectares, with a scale of 228 resettlement plots.

Along with that, the District People's Committee has also urgently carried out site clearance for resettlement areas according to the approved plan. As a result, by May 11, 2025, the Van Xuan resettlement area (Bac Viet commune) with an area of 2.78 hectares (17 affected households) and the Na Phai village resettlement area (Hoang Viet commune) with an area of 1.71 hectares (14 affected households) have completed site clearance; the Tan My commune resettlement area with an area of 3.17 hectares, has 25 affected households, 23 households have handed over the site.
The fact that land acquisition and clearance for resettlement areas has received consensus from the people has helped speed up the completion of investment procedures, contractor selection and construction of items.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Phong, Director of My Son Construction Joint Stock Company, the winning contractor for the construction of the Na Phai resettlement area, said: Immediately after the People's Committee of Van Lang district handed over the clean site to the contractor, the unit mobilized 6 cars, 3 excavators, 2 bulldozers to dig and level the construction site. At the same time, the unit organized overtime construction from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day to speed up the project's progress. The unit's goal is to basically complete the construction of the site to meet the approved design level by the end of June 2025 to construct other items. To speed up the progress, the unit proposed that the People's Committee of the district urgently arrange additional dumping sites for the contractor to release nearly 100,000 cubic meters of excavated soil from the project.
At the resettlement area project in Van Xuan village, Bac Viet commune, the construction unit also took advantage of the cleared clean ground conditions to speed up the site preparation work according to the approved design. Accordingly, Construction Joint Stock Company 496 has established 3 construction teams, mobilized 15 vehicles and machines of all kinds and organized overtime at the construction site. Thanks to that, the excavation volume of the project has reached 70/287 thousand cubic meters. In parallel, the contractor also implemented other items such as: building transformer stations, casting concrete columns for the installation of power line pole systems, ordering electrical equipment, etc.
For the Tan My resettlement area serving as new accommodation for households affected by the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang border gate expressway project, the district is currently carrying out the bidding and construction supervision consulting steps. Mr. Vu Van Nhien, Chairman of the Van Lang District People's Committee, said: For the resettlement projects serving the land acquisition and clearance of the Dong Dang (Lang Son) - Tra Linh (Cao Bang) expressway under construction, the district People's Committee has directed contractors to implement all solutions to speed up the construction of the resettlement area. At the same time, contractors must report the construction progress weekly and report the construction results daily. For the resettlement project serving the land acquisition and clearance of the Huu Nghi - Chi Lang border gate expressway project, the district People's Committee has directed the unit assigned to manage the project to complete the bidding and select the project implementing units to start construction before Uncle Ho's birthday (May 19); Assign the leaders of the District People's Committee to directly direct the construction of resettlement areas and be responsible to the Steering Committee for implementing compensation and site clearance for project works in the district if the project progress is delayed.
With the drastic participation of all levels, sectors and the consensus of the people, the construction of resettlement areas in Van Lang district has basically met the progress requirements. The resettlement areas have been completed synchronously and spaciously, helping affected households to soon stabilize their lives and feel secure in their work and production. This is a key factor to ensure the progress and success of the investment projects on expressways being implemented in the area.
