Notably, in the achievements of the Vietnamese Wrestling team at this tournament, it is noted that the three female athletes Nguyen Thi My Linh (53kg women), Nguyen Thi My Trang (57kg women), Nguyen Thi My Hanh (62kg women) participated in the competition and won gold medals. This is the pride of the families of the three female athletes and they are also the expected faces of the Vietnamese Wrestling team.

Many opportunities for young athletes

Among the athletes participating in the 2025 Southeast Asian Championship, many promising young athletes from the Vietnam Wrestling team were selected by the coaching staff to compete in the U17 age group to help the athletes accumulate more and prepare for future goals. These include: Hoai Thu, Thao Thom, Hong Hanh, Kieu Trang, Vu Thi Thao, Gia Huy, Manh Dat, Dinh Hieu, Chi Hao, Hai Anh, Bao Nam and there are athletes who won the top position in their favorite weight class.

Through the achievements of the Vietnamese Wrestling team at this year's tournament, it can be seen that many young athletes have affirmed their level, talent and prospects. They received high praise from the coaching staff and experts, because the young athletes participating in this tournament are all potential faces, carefully selected through training sessions and level tests. They have every opportunity to make a breakthrough if they have more opportunities to compete internationally. That is what Mr. Ta Dinh Duc - in charge of the Wrestling Department (Vietnam Sports Administration), General Secretary of the Vietnam Wrestling Federation shared with the press.

It is known that, in addition to the goal of affirming the No. 1 position in Southeast Asia, the Wrestling Department is urgently completing the development of a training, coaching and competition plan for potential athletes. In particular, in the upcoming period from 2026 to 2030, Vietnam Wrestling has built specific achievement goals focusing on each main arena, namely SEA Games and ASIAD. From there, the department and coaching staff will have an investment plan suitable for each group of athletes selected according to different criteria and arenas.
