The relic site is about 70 km from Ho Chi Minh City. Currently, there are two main areas that are preserved and allowed for tourism activities: Ben Duoc and Ben Dinh Tunnels. Visitors can refer to the route to go by motorbike, car, bus, or high-speed boat to Ben Duoc Tunnels in Phu Hiep Hamlet, Phu My Hung Commune, which used to be the base of the Party Committee, the Command of the Saigon-Cho Lon-Gia Dinh Military Region.
When coming to the tunnels, the experience that cannot be missed is going underground, exploring the interwoven tunnels. According to the tour guide, the entire tunnel has a total length of 250 km, and at one time could accommodate thousands of people, with 3 different depths, the deepest of which is 12 m below the ground. The "village" is also the fortress, created entirely by the will, determination and hands of humans, along with rudimentary tools such as hoes and shovels. The tunnels were constructed and camouflaged extremely cleverly, with full functional rooms such as meeting halls, food pits, weapon pits, ventilation holes, fighting nests, Hoang Cam kitchens, manufacturing workshops, and military uniform sewing workshops. Although the tunnels have been reinforced and illuminated, many people still cannot stand the feeling of crawling in the narrow, stuffy tunnels for long. Only then can we imagine the hardships and dangers that the resistance forces had to steadfastly overcome during the sweeps and the rain of bombs and bullets from the enemy.
Through the forest is the Ben Duoc Martyrs Memorial Temple with stone stele engraved with the names of more than 45 thousand heroes, martyrs, and heroic Vietnamese mothers. Visitors also have the opportunity to admire the area recreating the Cu Chi liberated area from 1961-1972, and taste dishes that once fed soldiers and people such as potatoes, cassava, and yams with sesame salt. With the cooperation of Tran Huu Trang Opera House, the "War Zone Moon" night tour here is a unique and interesting tourism product favored by domestic and international tourists.
