"What is Da Nang like in the eyes of world tourists? What makes the city different?..." - Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Tham, Director of Da Nang City Tourism Promotion Center, raised the issue at the framework of the Da Nang Professional Chef 2025 competition at Furama Da Nang on the morning of November 11.
Korean tourists especially love Da Nang?
According to Ms. Tham, thanks to efforts to promote and build destinations, Da Nang tourism has continuously recorded growth.
Currently, visitors mainly come to Da Nang by air. Da Nang International Airport continues to be a strategic trade center connecting major cities around the world.
In 2025 alone, there will be 40,000 flights - an increase of about 20% compared to the same period in 2024.
After merging with Quang Nam, Da Nang has a superior advantage. The tourism product space is wide open, no other destination in the country has a diverse destination ecosystem and a wide space like Da Nang.
The city has a system of accommodation facilities with more than 70,000 rooms. The number of 4-5 star accommodation facilities is the highest in the country. The Director of the Da Nang City Tourism Promotion Center said that currently, Korean, Thai and Chinese tourists account for a high proportion.

Interestingly, more than 30% of Korean visitors to Da Nang decide to return to continue their experience. Research shows that Korean visitors especially love Da Nang.
Explaining this, Ms. Tham said that Korean tourists find Da Nang safe, friendly, and has many integrated utilities within a not-too-large area. In particular, the trend of Koreans is to travel to places where they can find their community.
Experiences such as taking the train from Da Nang to Hue, experiencing a heritage discovery journey, focusing on relaxation, individual travel, group travel... are very suitable in Da Nang.
What will Da Nang do to stay fresh?
Setting a target of welcoming 10.6 million domestic visitors and 8.9 million international visitors by 2026, the Director of the Danang City Tourism Promotion Center said that there are many solutions, including focusing on brand positioning and promoting destinations.
Despite the large number of visitors, Da Nang in some aspects only has a few familiar attractions such as Ba Na Hills, Hoi An, My Son, Linh Ung Pagoda...
In Vietnam, Sungroup's influence is huge in tourist cities, but currently the group is focusing on Phu Quoc to welcome APEC 2027. Therefore, Da Nang is facing fierce competition, requiring it to constantly renew itself.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Tham said that in addition to taking care of key markets, the city also strongly promotes the CIS market, especially Russian tourists.

The Da Nang tourism industry is also launching promotional strategies such as inviting Kols to experience and introduce the city's image. If the posted content has a large spread, Kols will be honored by the city.
The tourism industry will also invite leaders of corporations and influential people in resorts and experiences.
In 2026, Da Nang will also organize 50 events and festivals such as the International Fireworks Festival, Da Nang food tour, International Film Festival, Horecfex 2026 Technology and Innovation Forum in the Hotel Industry...
The 2026 tourism stimulus program will be connected with airlines, shipping lines and railways to diversify products and increase the number of visitors to Da Nang.
The 5th Danang Professional Chef Competition 2025 took place at Furama resort, attracting 16 teams from major hotels and restaurants.
During a competition day, chefs showed off their skills to create dishes imbued with regional culture, showcasing the quintessence of Vietnamese cuisine; contributing to promoting the image of Da Nang tourism as a destination for culinary tourism.
