On November 1, the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province issued a document banning fishing at Dau Tieng Lake for 30 days to protect the source of fish fry that will be released into the lake by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Accordingly, to regenerate and restore aquatic resources, protect the water environment, and increase income for people exploiting aquatic resources, every year, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tay Ninh province organizes the release of 1 million additional fish of various types.
The ban on fishing during the prescribed period allows fish fry time to develop and move to distant waters, thereby promoting the effectiveness of releasing fish fry in 2024.
The ban on fishing on the lake starts from November 7 to December 7, 2024. The Provincial People's Committee strictly prohibits the storage, trading, transportation, and use of prohibited fishing gear for fishing and the trading and consumption of aquatic products originating from Dau Tieng Lake.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the People's Committees of Duong Minh Chau and Tan Chau districts, and the Southern Irrigation Exploitation Company Limited to widely announce the direction of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee to the people and those participating in aquatic exploitation in Dau Tieng Lake and mobilize people to sign a commitment not to exploit aquatic resources during the above period.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development shall preside over and coordinate with the Tay Ninh Provincial Police, the People's Committees of Duong Minh Chau and Tan Chau districts, the Southern Irrigation Exploitation Company Limited and relevant agencies to organize inspections and handle violations according to the provisions of law.
